Pamela Anderson is set to hit the sandy shores for the upcoming film adaptation of Baywatch.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson took to Instagram on Thursday to share the news that Anderson was joining the cast.

Johnson posted a photo of himself and the 48-year-old actress standing together in front of the ocean, which he captioned, "She introduced the world to 'CJ Parker' and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation - for the most successful TV show of all time."


"A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast," Johnson continued. "We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!"

Anderson, who joined the show in 1992 and stayed on for five seasons, played C.J. Parker -- one of the series' most popular characters. However, she will not be reprising her iconic role in the film. Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach has been cast to play Parker, meaning Anderson's role is still unknown.

Johnson stars as head lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, the role originated by David Hasselhoff. It was previously announced that Hasselhoff will also have a cameo in the film and, like Anderson, it's unclear what his role will be.

In February, Anderson sat down with ET Canada where she admitted that she had turned down the initial offer to be part of the Baywatch movie, but reconsidered after the producers continued to pursue her.

Bollywood actress-producer Priyanka Chopra will be seen making her Hollywood debut with Baywatch, in which she will play the antagonist and we recently came across some information about the film's release date.

Hiram Garcia, from the film's production, took to Twitter to announce that Baywatch, which stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, is slated to release on May 19 next year. The film's principal photography has already begun and the movie will be shot in Miami and Savannah. Baywatch revolves around lifeguard Mitch Buchannan (Johnson) as he clashes with a brash new recruit (Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot by antagonist Victoria Deeds (Priyanka) that threatens the future of the Bay.


Baywatch is the version of the popular 1990s TV series of the same name, which had starred Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra along with David Hasselhoff.

Reese Witherspoon is not afraid to step into the light.

While production of the Baywatch movie is happening in Miami Beach, a gulf away in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a vacationing Reese Witherspoon seemed inspired by the sexy series on Tuesday. The blonde sported a low-cut, curve-hugging red one-piece not unlike the one a young Pamela Anderson wore while frolicking on the beach as C.J. Parker in the ‘90s.

The Wild actress, 39, celebrated the end of awards season by slipping into the plunging one-piece while kicking back south of the border. The mom of three, who’s married to talent agent Jim Toth (who can forget that?), had her blond locks down and wavy as she lounged.

At times Witherspoon — who has her own clothing line, Draper James — wisely covered up with an oversized sunhat, shades, and a turquoise sarong. Her hat and phone cases were both monogrammed with her initials. She also kept hydrated with a lemon accented clear beverage.

The Baywatch movie is currently in production, but don't expect Pamela Anderson to be donning her signature red one-piece just yet!

In an interview with ET Canada, the 48-year-old actress admits that she was approached for a role in the movie, and while she hasn't turned it down "completely," she did turn down the initial offer.

"Baywatch was such a huge part of my life," she explains. "And really they're trying to do an homage. It's an honor to have them want me to be a part of it so bad."

Other than paying tribute to fans of the original show, Anderson admits she's not sure how it "benefits" her to appear in the film, though she's still considering it.

"I haven't even read the script. I have no idea what it's about," she confesses. "They've mentioned some cute things, but I don't want to give it away."

Child sexual abuse has emerged as major concern these days. But the reality is this dark side of our society was always present, in every nook and corner.

But this was just her introduction to the world of sex abuse and not just a one incident. She suffered this trauma time and again at the hands of her mother’s boyfriend, a family friend, and her uncle while staying in Milwaukee.

Kalki Koechlin - Kalki Koechlin is among the few Indian celebrities who opened about a disturbing childhood. In an interview with NDTV, she revealed the shocking incident. The bold actress also expressed her disapproval with media’s action of making such a gloomy experience of someone’s life a news headline, just because she is a celebrity. 

Lady Gaga - Lady Gaga came up with the shocking revelation of being raped at the age of 19.  According to an ANI report, the songstress’s song ‘Swine’ speaks of this disturbing truth of her life. Anoushka Shankar - Anoushka Shankar has also been a victim of sexual abuse as a child. The Sitar player admitted this during the video release of a global women’s rights campaign. Shankar told the media that the offender was a family friend and the incident left her scared for her entire childhood. However now as an adult she understands the severity of such heinous crime and is hence committed to the welfare of women and their security. 

Pamela Anderson – It comes as a shock when bold stars like Pamela Anderson confess to being an object of some retired mind’s guilt. The Baywatch star spoke at a star-studded event during the Cannes Film Festival that her childhood was anything but full of sweet memories. She was molested by a 46 year old when she was six. At the age of 12 she was raped by a 25 year old and was gang raped by her boy-friend and his friends in her teens.

This is a heart breaking to see how our society is getting contaminated. This is not characteristical of any particular culture or country. In most of the cases the violators are the most trusted people within the social, rather family circle of the victim.  With people trying to shovel such incidents under the rugs, the abusers walk freely. It is but a bitter truth and with every passing moment such incidents are growing in numbers. The decline in such cases can’t be predicted anytime soon either.

The upcoming ‘Baywatch’ movie has found a new Pamela Anderson… as Kelly Rohrbach joins the cast in the role of C.J. Parker.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – who takes over from David Hasselhoff as lifeguard, Mitch Buchannon – revealed the casting news via Instagram.

“A pleasure welcoming @kellyrohrbach to our #BAYWATCH family for the iconic role of ‘CJ Parker’,” he said. “Yes, she’s a walking smoke stack but more importantly… she’s smart, tough and funny. Just the way we like ‘em.”

Paramount has found the actress who will step into the role Pamela Anderson made famous on the cult TV series Baywatch.

Model Kelly Rohrbach will play C. J. Parker in the movie reboot of the 90s show. Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron star in the film, which will be directed by Seth Gordon. San Andreas actress Alexandra Daddario was recently tapped to play Summer (originally portrayed by Nicole Eggert).

Johnson will also produce the film with his partner Dany Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions banner. Beau Flynn and Ivan Reitman are producing as well, along with Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Greg Bonnan.

Damian Shannon and Mark Swift wrote the latest draft of the script. Although plot details are currently vague, sources close to the project reveal that the studio is taking a comedic route with the movie. Production is expected to commence in the new few months.
