Maine Mendoza has a message to all haters – she is not going to leave her show anytime soon.

As reported on Chisms, the Kapuso star recently dismissed rumours that she will be making her exit from the noon-time variety show, "Eat Bulaga!", during a live chat on the show's official Facebook page.

Earlier reports stated that the actress would resign from her supporting role as Yaya Dub to focus on her acting work, both in television and films.

Mendoza, who made her acting debut in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry "My Bebe Love" late last year, reportedly will begin filming her new movie with onscreen partner, Alden Richards, in Italy soon.

When a fan asked her about her departure recently, she responded, "There is no truth to the rumours. You know it. I am not leaving ["Eat Bulaga!" ALDUB ]."

And to her critics, Mendoza said, "Sorry, bashers. I am not going anywhere. I'm just here."

What started out as a skit in a noontime show is now the biggest source of happiness for millions around the world where there are Filipinos.

Yesterday’s Tamang Panahon  episode of Eat Bulaga drew an SRO crowd to the 55,000-seat Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, which is owned by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).

The attendance is expected to top the more than 44,000 patrons that filled the venue during the premiere of the INC-produced movie “Felix Manalo,” which made it to the Guinness Book of Records for the biggest audience at a premiere night and the biggest screen ever.

As of presstime, the Tamang Panahon episode has earned more than 27.2 million tweets, beating the show’s own record of 25 million as of last count. Tickets were sold out one hour after selling was announced by Wally Bayola’s character Lola Nidora in the previous Saturday’s edition of Eat Bulaga. Ticket sale proceeds, around P14 million, will finance the construction of libraries in schools around the country and help victims of Typhoon Lando.

The AlDub Nation (as the kalyeserye followers are collectively known) made no secret about its goal to reach 36 million tweets to mark the noontime show’s 36 top-rating years.

“When Eat, Bulaga started in 1979, I coined the slogan ‘Habang May Bata, may Eat, Bulaga,” said host Joey de Leon. “From the time the show started, we have focused on helping kids.”

Describing Tamang Panahon as “history and charity combined,” Joey added that it was the first time for him to witness such a huge crowd for a live show. It lasted three hours and a half (from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) non-stop, without commercials.

The seamless kalyeserye proved to be the greatest show this side of earth, keeping millions not just nationwide but around the world glued to their TV sets from the beginning when Lola Nidora traced on video the family history, assisted by the characters of Jose Manalo (Tinidora) and Paolo Ballesteros (Tidora), until towards the end when lead stars Alden Richards and Yaya Dub/Maine Mendoza, with the consent of Lola Nidora, were finally able to hold hands and embrace, much to the delight of the audience, most of whom shed tears, especially when Maine, famous for being a Dubsmash Queen, finally talked no matter if briefly.

Face to face with Maine, Alden said, “I thank God for giving me you!”

The show was beamed live abroad (US, Canada, New Zealand, etc.) while several places in the country held viewing parties (Cebu, Mindanao, etc.) with huge crowds watching the kalyeserye on giant monitors.

The kalyeserye has caught the attention and affection of fans because aside from its unique entertainment style (unscripted, with Alden and Maine initially “romancing” via split-screen), Lola Nidora constantly reminds the young lovers, and the kalyeserye in general, of Filipino values such as respect for elders, being obedient and to wait for the right time (tamang panahon) and not to rush things.

True enough, Alden and Maine never forget to kiss the hands of the three lolas, with Lola Nidora subjecting them to all sorts of challenges – fetching water, running from the Broadway Centrum where Bulaga is aired to EDSA before as much as allowing Alden to meet Maine one foot apart.

Even the hosts – including Sen. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Pauline Luna, Allan K, Julia Clarete, Patricia Tumulak, Ryan Agoncillo and Ruby Rodriguez – paid respect by kissing the three lolas’ hands. Missed was Pia Guanio who was on her birthday vacation in Japan with husband Steve Magoo  and their daughter Scarlet.

“Pia planned the vacation months earlier and she didn’t have any idea that there was going to be a Tamang Panahon show,” said Pia’s manager June Torrejon-Rufino. “Their Japan trip couldn’t be cancelled or postponed.”

Alden teared up at the end of the show when he and Maine thanked those behind the show, led by producer Tony Tuviera, and their supporters.

Meanwhile, the kalyeserye continues to hold its followers in suspense as Lola Nidora finally gets hold of the mysterious diary. Stay tuned.

They had previously broke records on Twitter last year, and now the "Eat Bulaga!" love team AlDub, Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza, has set another great record on the international level.

According to PEP News, on 21 March, the couple's "#AldubEBTamangPanahon" was cited as one of Guinness Book of World Records' five key tweets that made record-breaking history.

It was revealed that it was the most used hashtag in 24 hours, with 40,706,392 users retweeting it from 24 to 25 October 2015.

The actual hashtag was created for the "Eat Bulaga!'s Tamang Panahon" charity concert, which attracted attention since it was the first meeting between Alden Richards and Mendoza's character Yaya Dub after months of split screen communication on the GMA show.

The event was held at the Philippine Arena on 24 October, attended by more than 50,000 fans.

In related news, the two stars will be featured in "Eat Bulaga!" Holy Week special, "God Gave Me You", alongside Jake Ejercito.

2015 has been a good year to Alden Richards. After winning Best Drama Actor at the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television recently, it was revealed that the 23 year-old star had also received a double platinum status for his album, "Wish I May".

According to PEP, the news was announced on 20 December on GMA Network's comedy variety show, "Sunday PinaSaya", with the Philippine Association of Recording Industry (PARI) giving the singer his award during his segment, "Chef Boy Next Door".

Apparently touched by the recognition, a teary-eyed Richards expressed happiness with the support that has been coming his way.

"You know, it doesn't matter how tired I have been with all the filming and busy schedule, these simple things really means a lot to me. Thank you so much for all your support," he said.

"Wish I May", Richards' album under GMA Records, had already reached Gold record status when it was launched on 17 October 2015, based on the pre-orders on both physical and digital copies.

"Eat Bulaga!" star Alden Richards has no interest in endorsing a politician for next year's national election.

As reported on GMA Network, the actor, who recently appeared at the press launch of his new endorsement, Snow Caps, denies previous rumours that he has been offered PHP100 million (approximately USD2.1 million) to endorse a political party.

"Nobody has offered that much money. And personally, I don't want to endorse anyone. I don't want to mix politics and showbiz," said Richards.

However, he admitted that he had received various offers of similar endorsements before.

"But I told them I just want to concentrate on my showbiz career," said Richards.

It has been nearly a year since the phenomenon that is AlDub – the love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, first introduced on GMA's noontime variety show, "Eat Bulaga!".

And now the two stars revealed that they are preparing something special for their fans.

As reported on Philstar News, the two stars, who made an appearance at the launching event of clothing and styling brand Bench and Bench Fix at TriNoMa Mall in Quezon City, where they both have recently been named its new spokespersons, announced that they are currently planning on a project together, that will be unveiled in July.

"I've got a surprise for AlDub Nation. It's for you to find out," said Richards, much to fans' delight.

Although both of them are keeping mum about the project in question, Richards hinted that it would be something that everybody has been waiting for.

"I am certain you will all be happy. It's a great great anniversary gift for you," said Mendoza.

The announcement sparked speculations that the two stars are working on another movie together, following the release of the MMFF entry, "My Bebe Love", earlier this year. There were also rumours that the two of them will be starring in the Pinoy version of the hit Korean drama, "You Who Came From the Stars".

Meanwhile, some speculated that there may be another concert to rival last year's October concert, "Tamang Panahon", which also marked the first time the AlDub team appeared together after communicating via a split screen for months through "Eat Bulaga!".

The girl who is currently the object of public interest and admiration is not fully aware of her immense popularity, according to the director of her first ever movie.

Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza is currently filming “My Bebe Love (#KiligPaMore),” an entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

“With Maine, I dont think she is fully aware of the immense popularity that she has. I don’t think it has sunk in to her,” veteran director Jose Javier Reyes told INQUIRER.net during a visit to the set of their movie in Alabang on Thursday.

“This is Maine’s first movie and she’s a natural comic,” Reyes said, noting the newbie actress’ talent in dubsmashing, which made her an Internet superstar even before her stint on TV.

Maine rose to fame this year by showing off her talent in lip-syncing popular and wacky lines from Filipino movies and television shows by using the video messaging app Dubsmash. She became an overnight sensation with her videos garnering millions of hits in different social media platforms. This paved the way for her to be part of Eat Bulaga’s “Kalyeserye” segment, where she got her monicker “Yaya Dub.”

And when she was paired unintentionally with actor Alden Richards, one of the hosts of the said noontime show, her popularity even grew bigger, making her name a part of the Filipino household. She gained followers across the country and around the world since then, a result of her magical split-screen partnership with Alden, touted as the “AlDub.”

“Maine has the lack of inhibition and (has) the openness to be a very good comedian,” Reyes said. “Aside from that, which is really important and quite a rarity nowadays, she’s intelligent. She’s not just another celebrity.”

He said that Maine is an intelligent young woman who knows exactly what she is doing and knows how to have fun while doing it. “Unlike a great number of performers who take their careers a matter of life and death, with Maine, it’s a choice because this is what she wants to do.”

It was the 17th day of shooting of My Bebe Love when INQUIRER.net paid Maine and Alden a visit. They shot several scenes from morning until evening, only leaving the set for a few hours during lunchtime for their Eat Bulaga stint.

Reyes is quite amazed with how Maine and Alden can keep their energy and composure on the set. “It’s fun. They are very exhausted… they are able to handle all the responsibilities and requirements and still go on the set and have a happy face.”

Reyes also shared that he asked Maine how she felt about Eat Bulaga’s charity concert at the Philippine Arena last October that drew more than 55,000 people.

“She says ‘I don’t know. I don’t know what this is about. I’m just enjoying it,'” he said, quoting Maine.

Unlike the servant role she takes on TV everyday, Maine plays the character of a rich girl, Anna, and the love interest of Dondi (Alden) in My Bebe Love. MMFF old-timers Ai ai de las Alas and Vic Sotto also headline the movie.

Internet sensation Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza and cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao dressed up as two iconic fictional characters as they graced Disney’s limited-edition calendar for 2016.

Mendoza, half of “Eat Bulaga’s” phenomenal “AlDub” tandem, channeled Princess Elsa of the movie “Frozen” and appeared on the February page.

The calendar described Mendoza as “one of the fastest rising Filipina stars to have emerged in recent months.”

“Best known for her viral Dubsmash videos, this Internet celebrity, comedienne, television personality and actress is not afraid to let it go and scale new heights when performing. Like Elsa, she’s embracing her talent and looking for ways to break new ground,” the description read.

Gosiengfiao, meanwhile, transformed into Alice from “Alice in Wonderland” and appeared on the May page.

“With over 5 million followers on Facebook and YouTube, it’s no wonder Alodia is known as the ‘Cosplay Queen’ in the Philippines. She shares a curiosity and love for adventure just like Alice from Wonderland,” the calendar said of the widely popular cosplayer.

Other Southeast Asian stars in the Disney calendar were Zack as Star Wars Rebel, Francis and Zachary as Baloo and Mowgli, Marco as Captain America, Megan as Dory, Nicoli as Kion, Richmont as Miles, Xander as Spider-Man, Ashley and Celine as Sofia and her Mom, Ariadna as Minnie Mouse, and Chilla as Belle.

Last year, ABS-CBN celebrities Kim Chiu and Sarah Geronimo were featured in the 2015 calendar as Fa Mulan and Rapunzel, respectively

Celebrity stylist Liz Uy recently revealed that she is suing Fashion Pulis writer, Michael Sy Lim, over his previous blog posts.

As reported on Push, Uy's lawyer, Irene Besido-Gracia, stated that the stylist's complaints - 6 of libel and 1 of slander, were caused by several incidents involving her celebrity client Maine Mendoza.

Previously in October, Lim revealed in his Fashion Pulis article that Mendoza wore a supposedly 'recycled gown' at the TV event "Eat Bulaga's AlDub: Sa Tamang Panahon" - the same Francis Libiran dress that was worn by Kim Chiu at a different event.

Lim also published a different post about Mendoza's jacket for her "Preview" magazine photo shoot, stating that Uy herself has worn the same jacket previously.

The blogger also refuted Libiran's claim that Mendoza's gown was from his 2015 Spring/Summer Collection, stating that Chiu was wearing the same dress in 2013.

In addition, he posted several tweets about the incidents and even criticises Uy's hand-me-down choices for Mendoza.

In a written statement from Uy, she stressed that the Libiran dress was not recycled, quoting the designer's previous clarification that Kim Chiu only modelled the dress once and it has not been worn at any other event by any other celebrity since then.

As for the jacket, Uy stressed that she was not the stylist for the photo shoot and was at a different event at Marriott Hotel at the time.

If Lim is found guilty, he will face a count of six to 12 years imprisonment, based on charges of cybercrime libel.

Uy's legal rep also stated that the stylist's decision to sue was not for profit but to clear her name.

He is known as the ultimate Prince Charming who is always very much ready to come to Yaya Dub’s rescue. He is that handsome gentleman on TV brimming with awesome confidence and humble demeanor. Behind the camera, he is a playful guy who enjoys goofing around with friends and family.

But what are the things we have yet to learn about man of the hour Alden Richards?

During INQUIRER.net’s recent visit on the set of his upcoming movie “My Bebe Love,” Alden shared to us his personal thoughts and feelings about some things he holds dear.

Of all the roles you have played on TV and in the movies, which is your favorite?

Actually I have no favorites. Every [role] was my favorite. As an actor, you have to love your roles because you are only [in] competition with your last acting role. Every role was my favorite except that there [is] this project [“One True Love”] that really made an impact in my life because I play [the character of] Tisoy which is me in real life. That’s my nickname. Also the one when I played the dark character in “The Road.” Those two made a mark. But all of my roles are my favorites. Don’t get me wrong.

Do you play any sports?

As of now, I don’t. I used to. I am more of a bowling person and [I do] casual basketball sometimes. Now I really have no time. I don’t know if you consider mountain climbing as a sport. I do that most of the time with friends. [I already climbed] Makulot, Pulag and Pico de Loro. Those three. I wanted to climb Batulao but it [would consume] so much time so I really can’t.

How do you handle success?

By just thanking the Lord for everything and putting it in my heart. Not in any part of my body. Of course once it consumes your being, the success, that’s the start of your downfall. So success is given to you because the Lord wants you to use it for the better, for the good of everyone.

Do you believe in zombies?

I don’t know, but l’m seeing news and I think we should believe in them. So to all zombie aficionados out there, I’m with you guys.

What’s your ideal date?

Just simple. We, guys, when we think of having a date, it has to be grand, it should be in an expensive restaurant and that your gift must be expensive. That’s not the thing that will determine your relationship with a special person. It’s the sincerity, it’s the intention and most especially it’s the love you have for that person.

Can you describe your ideal girl?

A girl [who’s} understanding, has sense of humor so there won’t be any dull moment, kind. I’m already okay with those three. “Good looks” is just a bonus.

What’s your dream destination?

I’ve been there already but I wanted to go back a thousand times. It’s Japan. It’s the place to be.

What scares you?

The unexpected, most of the time. Every day I just pray and I ask guidance from the Lord. [I say] “Lord you just take me where you want to take me. I will not resist.” That’s what I have been doing for the past few months.

Any Christmas and New Year plans?

No plans yet. I prefer to just stay at home and eat out with the family. That’s what we have been doing for the past years. We are not really much [fans] of outings, out of town or out of the country. We don’t do such. We are used to just being together. That’s a holiday already for us.

How is it working with Jose, Wally and Paolo?

It’s an honor. I am very much lucky, so is Maine, for us to have been working with really cool guys. Really good [people]. Not only them but all of the Dabarkads. We are very blessed with good people around us because they are the ones who remind us to be grounded. That success is not an overnight thing. It will not come to you instantly. If it comes to you, you have to put it in your head to think that you’re somebody else already. Those people are the ones you should always be with because they will remind you that you’re still “human.” Dabarkads are like that.

What’s your dream role?

No dream role. Every role is a dream role. I’m not [just giving] a safe answer but that’s the nature of an actor. You don’t choose roles not unless, of course, as actors, you have a branding. You have to be choosy sometimes but if I were to decide myself I will not choose because every role is a challenge.

In everything that has happened to you in the past few months, what are you most thankful for and proud of?

I am very thankful because I still have the faith. I’m not saying names, I am not [generalizing], but once [people] achieve success, most of the time, they forget [about their faith]. When I started…you don’t remember the Lord in times of downfall or success. You remember him every time, every minute of your daily life. You thank him and you have to be grateful because he’s doing this to you right now. He gave you this blessing for you to be able to achieve happiness. There’s no better happiness than the Lord for me.

I am very proud of AlDub. It is not just a love team. It’s a symbol of respect for everyone, for our fellow Filipinos. AlDub brings back the old school style of manners that most of us have already forgotten. We are very proud of this because people believe in us because they feel and they know that the purpose of AlDub is good and is for the better.

Every day as we do “Kalyeserye,” what we want to achieve is the lesson that they will take with them. It’s a choice if they want to take it or leave it be. We thank everyone because it’s like people’s lives are being changed. I’ve been hearing news and stories, and because of that it gives us inspiration and motivation to keep going.
