Pamela Anderson is set to hit the sandy shores for the upcoming film adaptation of Baywatch.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson took to Instagram on Thursday to share the news that Anderson was joining the cast.
Johnson posted a photo of himself and the 48-year-old actress standing together in front of the ocean, which he captioned, "She introduced the world to 'CJ Parker' and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation - for the most successful TV show of all time."
"A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast," Johnson continued. "We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!"
Anderson, who joined the show in 1992 and stayed on for five seasons, played C.J. Parker -- one of the series' most popular characters. However, she will not be reprising her iconic role in the film. Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach has been cast to play Parker, meaning Anderson's role is still unknown.
Johnson stars as head lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, the role originated by David Hasselhoff. It was previously announced that Hasselhoff will also have a cameo in the film and, like Anderson, it's unclear what his role will be.
In February, Anderson sat down with ET Canada where she admitted that she had turned down the initial offer to be part of the Baywatch movie, but reconsidered after the producers continued to pursue her.

Underboob, barely-there and high-waisted bikini trends look like they won’t be going away anytime soon.
Given what we’ve seen at 2019 Miami Swim Week, which runs until Tuesday, prominent and emerging swimwear designers are sticking with what people have been loving of the 2019 swimwear trends.
The annual trade show, now in its 37th year, showcases collections at runway shows and pop-ups.
There were certainly some bizarre and almost outrageous beach looks on show, like what’s been dubbed the ‘most uncomfortable doily-kini’ ever featured at the Pas Jalou swimwear show.
Luckily though this year’s Miami Swim Week also made headlines for much better reasons - using the event to feature a diverse range of models on their runways, including those of all sizes and ethnicities.
There was 21-year-old Halima Aden , who opened the Sports Illustrated show in a silver burkini. Fifty-five-year-old actor Kathy Jacobs strutted her stuff, as did Christie Valdiserri, who lives with alopecia. Christie pulled off her wig and posed for photos at the end of the runway.
And former professional dancer turned model Djaniel Carter left everyone in awe. Having sustained “traumatic injuries to both of her legs” she also battles an underlying medical condition that leaves her in constant pain, extremely fatigued and often unable to walk.
And yet, after being wheeled onto the runway by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor MJ Day, she managed to stand up and strike a pose for cameras.

The glorious trend which has seen a revival since it's hay-day in the 80s. Although it is still often questioned as to whether it is comfortable to wear.

Ashley Graham is getting personal with her latest photoshoot – not only did the size 14-16 model strip down, but she enlisted some help from her husband, Justin Ervin.
The 28-year-old model is Maxim’s latest cover girl and, in one particularly risqué pic, she poses naked while Ervin holds her bare breasts. And Graham tells ET the shot was his idea!
“Yes, those are my husband’s hands supporting me,” Graham says. “He supports me in more ways than one. What’s really funny is it was my husband’s idea to do that photo. We call it the Janet Jackson.”
The two first met at church in New York and married when Graham was 22. Now, Ervin lives in Los Angeles and works as a cinematographer, while the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model still resides in NYC. So, what’s the secret to making a long-distance marriage work?
“We have a rule. We don’t go longer than two weeks without seeing each other,” she tells us. “It’s absolutely fabulous. I love it. We just meet in L.A. or New York. We meet in Paris, Miami. It’s pretty sexy.”
Clearly the couple is embracing their sexiness now, but Graham has been open about the fact that she decided to wait until marriage to have sex with Ervin, because she says she was “losing [her] power” in past relationships.
“There was already this sexual tension, this roaringness,” she now says of the confidence her husband gives her in the bedroom. “We had already established such a friendship that we had the two combine. Which, in my mind, just made magic, because now not only am I sleeping with someone that I trust and I love, but I know that he wants me. He affirms me all the time and lets me know how sexy and beautiful I am.”
“We are going to totally have kids. We are probably going to do it in the next few years,” Graham also reveals. “Just another part of my brand building.”

Chrissy Teigen enjoyed a favorite tradition of impending motherhood -- a baby shower!
The 30-year-old model celebrated in New York City on Sunday alongside friends and her husband, John Legend.
Teigen shared a few Instagrams from the fun day, including one of Legend donning a paper crown that said "Baby Daddy" across the front.
Teigen got a bejeweled crown of her own, which featured "baby mama" delightfully emblazoned in glitter.
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model also Instagrammed the amazing white-and-pink cookies her lucky guests got to devour. The sweet treats featured shapes like crowns, baby carriages, onesies and bottles.
The partygoers weren't all human, however. Teigen and Legend's French bulldog, Penny, also made an appearance at the shindig.

Ashley Graham’s 2016 has gotten off to an amazing start. The 28-year-old model is positioning herself as a major force in the industry, with her killer curves and a message of body positivity and acceptance that’s making even the most strait-laced folks sit up and listen.
After kicking off the year with a historic appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue — as the first plus-size model to ever grace the magazine’s swimsuit cover — she went on to stun everyone at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last weekend in an ultra-revealing orange-red Bao Tranchi dress, for which she received both praise and criticism.
And now, Graham is moving on to her latest project: her very first ready-to-wear collection, created in collaboration with retailer Dressbarn, which has been steadily upping its fashion credentials over the past year with a huge rebranding and the launch of its ‘Dressbar’ collection. Available in sizes 4 to 24, Beyond by Ashley Graham for Dressbar offers dresses and kit separates that start at $48 and top out at just $66. Already, Graham’s collab is expected to continue into 2017.

Graham also wanted to make sure she put forth a selection of dresses a woman could wear with or without body shapers. “I wanted to make sure I didn’t have to wear Spanx with every dress. I wear Spanx every day, so I was like, can I make a collection where I don’t have to wear any?”

Chrissy Teigen hasn't let a baby bump hinder her love life with John Legend!
The Sports Illustrated model, who is expecting her first baby with her 37-year-old musician husband (pretty soon now!), dished to ET at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival about how they both have kept the romance alive during the pregnancy.
"Doing really fun things," she revealed to ET, such as, "Getting to come to South Beach and check into a beautiful hotel."
"It always feels kind of lively and romantic to us," the 30-year-old Lip Sync Battle host explained. "We're going to pack it in before she comes and hopefully after she comes we'll still make time for those nights alone."
So do they have a name for their little girl yet? Chrissy said they're still figuring that out.
"We have a running list on our phones," she revealed. "But we change it everyday. It's why I don't have a tattoo. There's nothing I like for more than 10 minutes."

When will designer brands learn that they need to make a variation of sizes to lend to stars for red carpet events? First Bryce Dallas Howard (who’s a size 10) struggled to find an ensemble to borrow for the Golden Globes in January and now Ashley Graham’s revealed that finding a suitable frock for the Oscars 2016 was an absolute ‘mare.
But what Graham herself was wearing spurred its own discussion.
The model, who recently hit headlines after becoming the first size 16 star to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimwear issue, was at the Academy Awards last night to co-host the pre-show on E!, commenting on what each of the red carpet arrivals were wearing.
“Trying to find a dress for the Oscars, a girl my size — these girls this size,” she said, referring to her cleavage, “I mean it has been a whole job in itself. So I am happy tonight with my outfit.”

During an interview for E!'s Live From the Red Carpet at Sunday night's Oscars, model Ashley Graham got very real about how hard it is for a curvy woman to find the right dress for the Oscars, or any fancy event for that matter.
"Trying to find a dress for the Oscars, a girl my size, [with] these girls this size — I mean, it has been a whole job in itself," Graham told host Giuliana Rancic.
By "a girl my size," she meant women who aren't a size 0 or two, and by "these girls these size," she meant her breasts, which were complemented quite well in her red, body-hugging Bao Tranchi dress.
Graham's appearance on the show came just days after her figure was criticized by former model Cheryl Tiegs, who took issue with Graham's Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover. That cover, by the way, made history as Graham was the first plus-size model to grace it.
By being candid at the Oscars, Graham's voice joins the chorus of other women in Hollywood who have been vocal about the fashion challenge facing women above a size 0 or 2. Stars like Rebel Wilson and Melissa McCarthy have called out the designers and stylists who effectively ignore women of a certain size.

Ashley Graham can't seem to win.
Less than one month after she was slammed for appearing as one of the three cover stars on Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue, the 28-year-old plus-size model flaunted her figure in Lane Bryant's Spring 2016 THIS BODY campaign. Unfortunately, TV networks like NBC and ABC reportedly rejected it.
"The THIS BODY campaign was meant to be a fun way for us to celebrate and honor women of all shapes and sizes," a representative for the clothing line told People. "What is too much for some does not hold true for others. All women should be celebrated and feel empowered to express themselves as they see fit. We want her to know she can attract as much media attention, look just as striking as any woman, and decide what beautiful means to her."
In addition to Graham, the controversial commercial features similarly curvy models, some who are seen stripping down to their undergarments, while others are rocking the brand's denim. One model is seen breastfeeding her newborn.
"It is a true celebration of women of all sizes doing what makes them feel beautiful," the brand's rep continued. "Whether its breastfeeding their newborn, flaunting their bodies the way they see fit, breaking down barriers all around and simply being who they are or want to be!"

Ashley Graham wasn't about to let Cheryl Tiegs' comments keep her from rocking the Oscar red carpet.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl stunned in a revealing red dress at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday night, just a few days after Tiegs apologized for calling the size 14-16 model "unhealthy."
"I don't like that we're talking about full-figured women because it's glamorizing them because your waist should be smaller than 35 [inches]. That's what Dr. Oz said, and I'm sticking to it," the 68-year-old former cover girl told E! News last week. "Her face is beautiful. But I don't think it's healthy in the long run."
After receiving backlash for her comments, Tiegs took to Twitter on Friday to offer "my sincere apologies to everyone I have hurt."
"I truly just want everyone to be healthy & happy," she added.

Sure, there are plenty of perks to being a celebrity, but when you’re in the public eye, you’re open to scrutiny from all kinds of dumb Internet trolls. And they are vicious. Just ask Barbara Palvin, who sent out a tweet over the weekend addressing some mean comments she’s been getting on her photos. “wooow. I got some nasty comments about me being fat. well I am not as skinny as I was when I was 18. but I don’t consider myself fat!” she wrote.
Those of us with two eyes and common sense can see that Palvin is far from fat. And even if she was fat, um, who cares? Internet trolls, that’s who. Palvin’s not the only woman on their radars: Women with body types from Gigi Hadid and Demi Lovato to Kim Kardashian and Pink are also getting slammed for being “fat” by these clowns.
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez had to get a rude Instagram commenter together after being told she needed to “work out” and “stop eating junk food” and that as “an actress she needs to tone her body.” Hmm… We’re just here trying to figure out where Gomez isn’t toned. (Photo: @selenagomez)

Gabourey Sidibe
Gabby Sidibe is definitely a woman of size and is no stranger to being made fun of for her weight. She was recently trolled on the Internet for her love scene in Empire, which sparked mean Internet memes. But Gabby came quick with the clap-back, saying, “I, a plus-size, dark-skinned woman, had a love scene on primetime television. … I felt sexy and beautiful, and I felt like I was doing a good job.” Oh, and in case you thought she has much time for haters, “You may have your memes. Honestly, I’m at work too busy to check Twitter anyway. #Booked.” ZING. (Photo: Getty)
Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid penned a long response to haters on social media who thought she wasn’t skinny enough for the runway. “Yes, I have boobs, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment. I’m still fitting into sample sizes.” BLOOP! (Photo: @gigihadid)
Lady Gaga
After being criticized for her figure in 2014, Gaga responded to the haters with a quick post, saying she was “curvy and proud,” signing off with a pig emoji to show she loves her body and doesn’t give a crap what anyone thinks. (Photo: @ladyaga)

Not everyone is celebrating Sports Illustrated's decision to put plus-size model Ashley Graham on one of its three swimsuit issue covers this year.
Former model Cheryl Tiegs, who herself has graced the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue multiple times, criticized the magazine for what she sees as promoting an unhealthy lifestyle.
"I don't like that we're talking about full-figured women because it's glamorizing them because your waist should be smaller than 35 [inches]. That's what Dr. Oz said, and I'm sticking to it," Tiegs told E! News in a new interview. "No, I don't think it's healthy."
But Tiegs, 68, did compliment Graham's looks.
"Her face is beautiful. Beautiful," she commented. "But I don't think it's healthy in the long run."
When ET chatted with 28-year-old Graham earlier this month, the model could not have been happier with her gorgeous SI cover.

Chrissy Teigen is proving she's beyond ready for motherhood.
The 30-year-old model -- who is expecting her first child, a baby girl, with husband John Legend this spring -- got a little practice on Thursday, cradling a newborn during day two of the "Swim Beach" Sports Illustrated Fan Festival in Miami, Florida.
An eyewitness tells ET that an "unbelievably adorable" Teigen "was in love" and "looked so happy," smiling and holding the baby girl ever so carefully as she laid her head on Teigen's chest. According to the source, the brunette beauty was laughing and appeared comfortable while she held the baby for about 25 minutes.
Pacific Coast News
While Teigen may have a bun of her own in the oven, that's clearly not stopping her from flaunting her toned figure. Just check out those legs!
"My short strings are getting a @harryjoshhair haircut!! Spoiled!" she captioned the snap.

Gigi Hadid recently showed off her jaw-dropping physique in this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and it turns out that her rumored boyfriend, Zayn Malik, was a fan of her super sexy photospread.
"He obviously liked the pictures," Hadid told ET's Jen Peros at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue party in New York City on Tuesday, where the 20-year-old model looked drop-dead gorgeous.

Hadid, however, played coy about her relationship with Malik, referring to him as her "special someone" and not mentioning him by name.
Earlier this month, the 23-year-old former One Direction bandmate confirmed that they were dating when he talked about working with his "girlfriend" for his "Pillowtalk" music video with the Zach Sang and the Gang radio show.
While Malik might have appreciated her revealing swimsuit snaps, Hadid was also excited to share the pics with some other special people in her life -- namely, her mother and her agent.
