Almost nothing provokes such a vast spectrum of emotion as receiving a jury summons. Anger, annoyance, confusion, excitement, solemnity, resignation. Tons of feelings emanate from that beige envelope like rays from a particularly d–kish sun. All but the most naive or bored know that jury duty is something to get out of, but it’s our proud American duty to serve! So report we must.

As much of a pain as jury duty can be, I think we’ve all sat in those immense, drably-carpeted waiting rooms fantasizing about being selected for a jury in some kind of huge, high-profile case. That would make the whole process worth it, right? To be part of an important trial? Well, no trial has ever been as important as the O.J. Simpson trial, and if “A Jury in Jail” is to be trusted, perhaps no jury has had a worse experience. From actual verbal abuse by the courthouse guards to denial of everyday pleasantries like television or swimming pool access, the jurors eventually turned on each other and the system itself. But where most of us knew of all the dysfunction surrounding the prosecution and defense, all this jury drama had been shielded from public eye. Until now! What a truly fascinating episode. Let’s talk about it.

We began in a tacky hotel conference room where a borderline RACE RIOT was about to break out.

Meet the men and women of the O.J. Simpson trial jury. We were eight months into their daily ordeal and it was safe to say that they were no longer stoked or excited to be apart of the Trial of the Century. But things weren’t always this way.

We flashed back to their original arrival at the hotel in which they’d be sequestered, and a few were feeling pretty jazzed about getting a high-profile vacation for their efforts. But within minutes they were all being yelled at very harshly by uniformed officers, and also they weren’t allowed to read magazines, watch TV, or even take a sweet dip in the jacuzz’!

So right away things were not fun, and this was before outright arguments broke out between the jurors that reflected tons of racial tension. For example, all the white people wanted to watch Seinfeld on the communal television, but they were outnumbered by those who wanted to watch Martin.

If we are being honest, this was the only correct decision this jury ever made. Martin was the best.

The Dream Team, however, was having a GREAT time. This was mostly due to the whole “glove not fitting” incident, a victory which caused them to break out champagne and do cartwheels around the office. Even O.J. was feeling pretty good, as evidenced by this very fun-seeming poker game he played with the boys using Skittles for money. (I honestly would’ve Hungry Hungry Hippo’d that whole table.) In contrast, Marcia Clark was feeling very angry and bummed about the glove thing (which made her kinda hate Chris Darden even more than the time he failed to sex her up on vacation). But in her opinion they still had very convincing DNA evidence on their side.

Blue Ivy really is a Beyoncé mini-me!

The singer Instagrammed a photo of her 4-year-old daughter putting on lip gloss, which is cute enough on its own. It’s even more adorable because it appears that Blue was trying to do her makeup just like her mom’s!

The picture popped up amid a slew of selfies and behind-the-scenes shots Bey posted from the set of Coldplay’s “Hymn for the Weekend” music video, in which she plays a Bollywood star.

Which leads us to believe Blue’s makeover was the same day her mom donned henna and jewels of her own.

Chris Martin should have let little Blue cameo in the video – she was the star of the “Formation” video, after all!

Meanwhile, ET recently spoke with Gwyneth Paltrow about babysitting Blue Ivy. Check out what the lifestyle guru had to say about lugging around diapers and juice boxes in the video below.

The new series of Game Of Thrones is landing next month, and, for once, not even the bookworms know what is going to happen.

A trailer for series six was released to much fanfare, particularly as it is the first series which departs from the novels written by George RR Martin.

With nothing but the trailer to go on, we decided to have a look at what we can gleam from the exclusive 101-second insight into the new episodes.

1. It is not looking any cheerier.

If one thing has defined the Game Of Thrones series so far, it has been relentless misery.

At some stage, something unspeakably dreadful has happened to nearly every character.

So why change a winning formula? The series six preview, scored by a gloomy cover of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game, has the anticipated mixture of violence, anger and upset.

By now, GoT viewers are thick-skinned, battle-hardened creatures, so this is all to be expected.

Some seriously adorable photos have been released from Coldplay’s Super Bowl 50 rehearsals with Beyoncé.

ICYMI, the two and Bruno Mars teamed up for the half-time show in February, giving crowds a performance they’ll never forget, complete with a dance-off, fireworks and a look back at some of the best half-time shows from years gone by.

Now, Queen Bey has given fans a look behind-the-scenes of the truly epic show, sharing some sweet photos from rehearsals on her website.

As well as showing her getting ready and choosing a golf cart as her preferred mode of transport, Beyoncé also showed good friend Chris Martin dancing around with her and Jay Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy.

N’awww.

Things got a little aggressive at the NME awards in England on Wednesday when Oli Sykes, frontman for the British rock group Bring Me the Horizon, trashed Coldplay's table during a live performance.

Sykes, who was singing while walking through the crowd at O2 Academy Brixton, jumped on the table where Coldplay was seated and began to kick off bottles of champagne before it partially collapsed.

Many are speculating that the stunt stems from Bring Me the Horizon's reported animosity toward Coldplay -- and frontman Chris Martin -- over their similar album art.

Sykes previously claimed that the cover art for Coldplay's recent album, A Head Full of Dreams, released in early December, ripped off the art from his band's album, Sempiternal, which came out in April 2013.

Both albums use the iconic Flower of Life symbol, which is common among many religions. However, Sykes told NME magazine that he believed Coldplay had to have known that Bring Me the Horizon had already used the symbol before.

"They might not have known at first, but obviously if you google flower of life the first thing that comes up is [our album]," Sykes explained. "'It's like, if you Google the images, someone's gonna have said something to them, so whether it was intentional or not, it is the same."

Kellie Martin’s new bundle of joy has arrived.

The actress and her husband, Keith Christian, welcomed their second child on Thursday.

The couple announced the news with a super cute Instagram pic of their baby girl lying next to their 9-year-old daughter, Margaret Heather.

“She’s finally here!” Martin captioned the heartwarming snapshot.

The baby girl, Olivia James Christian, was born weighing 7 lbs., 15 oz. and was 20 inches long, People reports.

The 40-year-old former ER star announced she was expecting back in September, when she was already five months pregnant, during an appearance on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family.

Congrats to the happy couple on the adorable addition to their family!

In case you missed it, Coldplay have been announced as the Sunday night headliners for this year’s Glastonbury festival, making it the fourth time the band have nabbed the headlining slot on the Pyramid Stage (2002, 2005, 2011, 2016).

It hasn’t taken long for speculation to start about who might be joining them on stage on the last night of the festival, with reports claiming the band would love Beyoncé, who sings on their track ‘Hymn For The Weekend’, to make a cameo.

In fact, according to The Mirror, Coldplay have already reached out to the star to see if she’ll make an appearance.

A source told them: “Given the stupendous reaction fans had to Beyonce during Coldplay’s SuperBowl stint earlier this month, it’s a no-brainer for Chris Martin to try to get her involved again - it would be a great start for the UK leg of her tour, too.”

No other headliners for the festival, which runs from 23-26th June, have been announced. Jeff Lynne’s ELO will play the infamous Sunday teatime slot.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin remain on great terms following their split, and no one is more proud than her mum Blythe Danner. The actress has opened up about her daughter and former son-in-law's "extraordinary relationship", saying that they continue to put their family first almost two years after they announced that they were "consciously uncoupling".

Speaking about Gwyneth during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine on Monday, Blythe said: "I've learned a lot from her. She's an extraordinary mother and such a brilliant actress. I'm hoping as the children get older she will come back to [acting] because to me there's no-one like her, she can do anything."

The I'll See You in My Dreams star added that Gwyneth's split from Coldplay frontman Chris has remained "positive" for the sake of their two children, Apple, 11, and nine-year-old Moses.

"Well you know what, they have this extraordinary relationship," Blythe explained. "The kids come first, they're supportive of one another and this isn't just 'la-di-da' positive, this is absolutely true.

"They had this conscious uncoupling which some people questioned and say, well what's that? They’ve made it work, the kids come first, the family comes first. We do Christmas and the holidays and I’m really proud of them. They’ve made it work so well."

The Revenant emerged as the main victor in an otherwise spread-out BAFTA honors night that saw 14 films emerge with awards.

The film scooped the best film, best director and best actor awards, alongside best sound and best cinematography. Mad Max: Fury Road earned four awards, while Carol, which had led the nominations, was among the few titles shut out entirely.

Stephen Fry was, again, the evening’s main host, but the other presenters included Tom Cruise, Idris Elba (who missed out on a best supporting actor to Mark Rylance) and Cuba Gooding Jr. There were several comedic digs at the Oscars diversity debate throughout, including ones from Rebel Wilson and Sacha Baron Cohen. The evening also saw Sidney Poitier receive the BFI Fellowship, but the iconic actor was too ill to attend so accepted the award in a video.

In honor of the evening clashing with Valentine’s Day, BAFTA set up a “Kiss Cam,” which was aimed at real-life couples, including Fassbender and Vikander, and less likely pairings, such as Maggie Smith and DiCaprio. “This year, the stars have colluded and collided in such a way to make the BAFTAs coincide with Valentine’s Day,” said Fry. “Love between two women, love between Roman catholic priests … and… their lawyers.”

Proof that the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Gwyneth Paltrow took to her Instagram account to share this adorable selfie of herself alongside her eleven-year-old daughter, Apple.

The 43-year-old shocked fans with the pic of the near-identical mother and daughter, with Apple sporting the same big eyes and long blonde hair as her famous mum.

Apple is Gwyneth’s daughter with her ex-husband Chris Martin, who is gearing up to perform during the half-time show at the Super Bowl alongside Beyonce and Bruno Mars later today.

The former couple have been regularly praised for their incredibly amicable divorce, with both stars championing co-parenting and Gwyneth even going so far as to say that Chris is like her brother now.

Following the death of Eagles singer/guitarist Glenn Frey on Jan. 18, along with the outpouring of shock and sympathy came an ugly backlash against the Eagles, the band Frey fronted for decades. One of the most successful rock acts of all time found themselves the target of haters, even as they were mourning the death of one of their own. Now it seems Coldplay are the new Eagles, as they are experiencing a similar backlash. Thankfully, nobody died this time, but the British group is under the glare of the spotlight after playing the world’s biggest stage – the Super Bowl halftime show – and inviting guests Bruno Mars and Beyoncé, who basically upstaged Coldplay at the band’s highest-profile show ever.

Perhaps giving more fuel to the Coldplay haters was frontman Chris Martin’s marriage and subsequent “conscious uncoupling” with actress/self-proclaimed lifestyle guru Gwyneth Paltrow, who has her own share of detractors. Then there’s Martin’s and Coldplay’s endless stream of superstar collaborations, which often come off as marketing stunts rather than legitimate creative endeavors.

Indeed, the addition of guest performers Bruno Mars and Beyoncé, who both have previous recent Super Bowl halftime performances under their belts, to Coldplay’s halftime concert seemed to fall into that category.

The halftime show at Super Bowl 50, held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. on Feb. 7, brought an eclectic if somewhat erratic mix of talent – British rockers Coldplay tested their mettle against pop royalty Beyoncé and Bruno Mars. While the overall result was slightly uneven, spectators enjoyed the upbeat energy that all three artists brought to the field.

The news that Coldplay would be helming the Half at Super Bowl 50 left many fans scratching their heads in puzzlement: Although an undeniably massive act, the British band’s somewhat dreamy style seemed an odd fit for, well, an American event centered around a lot of partying and ruckus.

Perhaps that’s why the NFL made the decision to bring back two of their best crowd-stirrers, Beyoncé (who handled the halftime show in 2013) and Bruno Mars (2014) for a little halftime reunion of sorts.

Still, the juxtaposition of these two against Chris Martin & Co. read mentally rather like the opening moments of last year’s Bowl, when the New England Patriots ran out to Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” while the Seattle Seahawks ambled on to the field to the dulcet strains of the Verve’s “Bitter Sweet Symphony.”

Despite this, there remained the hope among music fans that perhaps the band might be able to surprise the Northern California crowd with a touchdown of sorts. Who doesn’t love a quarterback sack by the underdog?

Alas, it was not to be. As the game’s second quarter closed with Denver leading Carolina by 6, Chris Martin started things off enthusiastically, running across Levi’s Stadium to take the stage with opener “Viva La Vida.” However, he was working immediately with a handicap: The stage, lit up with colorful effects, was unfortunately not put to full effect as the West Coast sun had not yet entirely gone down.

Gwyneth Paltrow (Steve Pan/Glamour)

It might be hard to believe that the woman who introduced vaginal steaming and solid gold dumbbells to the world was once a broke college dropout with weird roommates and cupboards full of sodium-addled noodles — but it’s true. In an interview with Glamour, the 43-year-old actress-turned-entrepreneur recounted the hard line her famous father, the late Bruce Paltrow, drew in the sand when she was just a teenager.

“People think, ‘She’s just a rich kid.’ Until I was 18, I was. Then I was broke. I’ve never taken a dime off my parents. I’m completely self-made,’” Paltrow revealed. Asked, specifically, if she’d endured her share of odd living companions and ramen, she didn’t miss a beat. “Of course!” she quipped. (Let’s all just pause and take in that visual for a moment.) “I went to UC Santa Barbara, and when I quit to try to be an actress, my dad was like, 'That’s great, but I’m not gonna help you.’” Like most teens, Paltrow didn’t quite believe her dad would really stick to his word on that one.

“I was like, 'Yeah, right.’ And he was like, 'No, I’m not,’” she recalled. “So I got an apartment with a roommate; I worked as a hostess at a restaurant; I would scrounge quarters to buy Starbucks — and walk there to save gas. I remember once asking my dad for money, like, 'Please, I’m really stuck. Can you help?’ And he said, 'You’re more than welcome to come over for dinner.’ That was it.” Paltrow fondly added, “Those were the days. Enough to know the value of money.” (So give her a rest about the price points of Goop, already, would you?)

But success brought with it its own set of challenges — namely, Paltrow developed a little bit of a 'tude. Fortunately, Dad was there to put her in check. “I remember my dad once sat me down when I was 25 or 26,” she remembered. “I was in the middle of this storm of success, and my dad was like, 'You’re getting weird.’ [Laughs.] I was like, 'Oh my God, I am. Oh, sh-t.’ I mean, I got it. I thought I was so awesome for a minute.”

Lady Gaga is heading to America’s biggest sporting event.

The singing superstar is set to sing the national anthem when the Denver Broncos meet the Carolina Panthers at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday.

It’s the 50th Super Bowl and it could be one of the most star-studded because Gaga won’t be the only famous face entertaining the crowd and millions watching at home.

Coldplay will be headlining the half-time show this year, and fans are hoping Beyoncé – who performed at half-time with Destiny’s Child in 2013 – will pop up to join the band for their collaboration Hymn For The Weekend.

Chris Martin told CBS: “I love the whole concept of trying to present your entire musical life in 12 and a half minutes. We’ve possibly got 11 good minutes. So we have some special guests and they’ll cover the rest.”

He also revealed that his daughter with Gwyneth Paltrow, Apple, comforted him by telling him: “The worst that can happen is you will be a meme.”

Chris Martin joined James Corden on Tuesday for an all-new installment of "Carpool Karaoke" that was unlike any other in Late Late Show history.

Corden found Martin trying to hitch a ride to San Francisco -- where Coldplay is rocking the Super Bowl 50 halftime show -- and after begrudgingly agreeing to give the front man a lift, the two embarked on a 400-mile road trip that was one of the most adorable things ever.

Serenading Corden, Martin performed a low-fi rendition of Bowie's 1977 hit ""Heroes,"" that got the guys kind of misty eyed.

"Oh! Great song," Corden beamed.

"Thanks, Dave," Martin added, saluting the late music icon who died on Jan. 10 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

If you didn't like Martin before, there's no way you won't fall in love with the 38-year-old singer after this. From not understanding even the most basic aspects of "American football" to the humble, unassuming way he buys lemonade from some kids on the side of the road, Martin seems like he'd be the absolute best road trip buddy.

She's an international superstar who is known for her killer colloborations and head-turning outfits, and this time, Beyoncé has combined the two. The 34-year-old brings a Bollywood feel during her appearance in Coldplay's latest music video and it's a must-see.

Beyoncé stuns in Coldplay's new music video

The Crazy In Love hitmaker, who is friends with Chris Martin and ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, features on Coldplay's Hymn For The Weekend track, making a lasting impression in the colourful video.

Filmed in Mumbai, the video shows the global icon in traditional Indian attire as she wows with her vocals, complementing frontman Chris Martin.

The singer wore traditional Indian dress

The singer performs against a floral backdrop while wearing a large decorative headpiece. A blonde Beyoncé is seen wearing a red sari with a plunging neckline and ornate jewellery decorating her face.

Speaking about the star, bassist Guy Berryman told Capital FM: "It was amazing, she came in, she did her thing, she was unbelievably professional. I think she was in and out in five minutes," he said.

Bing Crosby’s version of “White Christmas” is not just the biggest selling Christmas single of all time, it’s the biggest selling single of all time, period. Christmas or not. But Bing recorded the song way before digital downloads took over the music business.

Since 2013, Nielson Soundscan began tracking digital downloads as well as point-of-sale scans. This playlist includes the most downloaded songs since Neilson started tracking them. And Bing is still hanging in there at number 10!
