The Jungle Book is getting an upgrade this spring from nostalgic animated classic to live-action heart-pounder, and ET is taking you behind the scenes of the highly anticipated movie.
The reimagining of the film based on Rudyard Kipling's collection of stories follows Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who's been raised by a family of wolves. Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle, however, when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voiced by Idris Elba), sees him as a threat.
Even with all the special effects, the heart of the movie comes from its dynamic performances.
"As with all of my films, I always have to have the right cast," director Jon Favreau says.
Along with Elba and Sethi, that cast includes Sir Ben Kingsley (Bagheera), Scarlett Johansson (Kaa), Christopher Walken (King Louie), Bill Murray (Baloo), Lupita Nyong'o (Raksha) and Giancarlo Esposito (Akela).

Women in Hollywood are typically paid less than men, and that’s become a hot topic in recent months. Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, and other stars have spoken frankly in interviews and essays about the salary gap, using their personal experiences as evidence. When asked about the issue for a new Cosmo cover story, Scarlett Johansson acknowledged the big picture, but added she’s not very comfortable discussing her own income.
“There’s something icky about me having that conversation unless it applies to a greater whole,” she tells the magazine. “I am very fortunate, I make a really good living, and I’m proud to be an actress who’s making as much as many of my male peers at this stage … I think every woman has [been underpaid], but unless I’m addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about my own personal experience with it feels a little obnoxious.”
Johansson’s feelings of ickiness are not unusual. Kate Winslet expressed similar feelings about discussing her earnings last November in a BBC interview, saying, “I don’t like talking about money; it’s a bit vulgar isn’t it?“

Celebrities' nanny diaries are nothing like the book by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus or its film version featuring Scarlett Johansson. Instead they are more often than not about scandalous affairs, many of which end marriages. Jude Law, Ethan Hawke, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robin Williams were reportedly divorced over affairs with their children's nannies.
Actress Eva Amurri Martino is recently said to have revealed that her husband fired the nanny after the young woman apparently stated that she wanted to "f**k his brains out." Talking about the incident on The Talk, co-host Sharon Osbourne revealed that she had had nanny troubles of her own and had caught two of them in bed with her rocker husband Ozzy.
"We used to have four nannies, because I had three children," she explained. "I would work five days a week, I would travel." The nannies would rotate schedules to manage taking care of the kids Aimee, Jack and Kelly.
"I'm telling you, they were the bane of my existence," she continued. "They were all wanting to be celebrities. They were all wanting money ... I caught two of them in bed with Ozzy!"

In the midst of fashion month, one thing becomes increasingly important: the front row.
Even if you didn’t see the show, you probably remember who was sitting up front. That’s because the front row at fashion shows has become a different sort of peacock parade, where the lineup of editors, celebrities, stylists and influencers often rival the models strutting down the runway.
Click through the gallery to see how the front row has evolved over the years.

Back in 2003, the front row was a little less glam than what we’re used to seeing these days. Distressed denim was the clothing of choice and issues of Us Weekly kept famous faces Nicky Hilton and Mariska Hargitay entertained pre-show. (Scott Gries/Getty Images)

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have a chemistry that is kaboom.
Together since 2011, we’re just now finding out how the parents of girl-with-the-boy-name James got together. It was the Canadian actor, 39, who shared the story, which is better than any meet cute story we can think of.
“About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single, we went on a double date — she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl — and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across,” Reynolds, who split from first wife Scarlett Johansson in 2010, said on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Deadpool special, which airs Friday.
Their friendship — and later romance — was the best thing that came out of their widely-panned 2011 superhero flick.
“We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends,” Reynolds gushed.

Believe it or not but the supremely talented Irrfan Khan recently turned down an offer from one of Hollywood’s greatest directors Steven Spielberg to star in a movie featuring Scarlett Johansson!
Yes you heard it right! The actor, who recently wrapped up Ron Howard’s Tom Hanks starrer Inferno, stated that he turned down the role as he felt that the character offered to him didn’t give him ‘much scope’ though he would have wanted to share screen space with Johansson.
Earlier he had rejected a role in Ridley Scott’s The Martian as he was busy with Piku.

Sandra Bullock is one classy lady. Despite being a ridiculously talented actress with a whole wealth of awards filling up her cabinets at home, she steers clear of the limelight and prefers to keep her private life, well, private.
But that isn’t to say she keeps her thoughts to herself – especially when it comes to topics that really matter to her.
The 51-year-old actress hasn’t tiptoed around the issues of sexism in the film industry that have hit headlines so many times in the last year, so it wasn’t all that surprising when Bullock took to the People’s Choice Awards stage last night to give a shout out to one group of women who don’t get enough support – working mums.
In particular, the four “working mamas” she beat to scoop the Favourite Movie Actress award: Anne Hathaway, Melissa McCarthy, Meryl Streep and Scarlett Johansson.

Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are giving hope to fans wishing for a Black Widow solo film.
According to Comics Alliance, Joe Russo responded to a question about a potential Black Widow movie, “Oh, yeah, we love that character.” His brother Anthony said, “And we love Scarlett [Johansson].”
“We find that the character is one of the richest, if not the richest, character in the Marvel universe,” Joe added, speaking at a junket in China to promote Civil War. “She’s a very complex character. She’s haunted by demons and her understanding of the world is fascinating. I think there is a lot that can be done with that character.”

There will be plenty of superheroes at the movies in 2016, with the Avengers, X-Men, Suicide Squad, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Gambit, Doctor Strange, and Deadpool all getting some action. But there’s also some heavyweight comedy (like Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot and a Zoolander sequel), highly anticipated animation (like the Nemo sequel Finding Dory and the new princess movie Moana), irresistible romantic pairings (like Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in La La Land and Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence in Passengers), and Oscar-friendly adult dramas (like biopics Sully and The Founder). Let’s count down the 40 films that have us feeling like ’16 will be extra-sweet.
