Haters gonna hate, but there’s no point hating on Ariel Winter because girlfriend can’t hear you!

Yep, after years of torment over everything from her weight through to her clothes, the Modern Family star says she’s finally learned to drown out the trolls

"When I was younger, it took a lot more of a toll on me than it does now," the 18-year-old reveals in an new interview with Seventeen magazine.

"Three or four years ago, I would have been devastated, like, 'Why do people feel this way about me? I'm just being me.'

“My sister helped me understand that people will say those things regardless of how you look. I tell myself every day, 'I look fabulous.'"

But her confidence has been hard fought-for. Ariel was just 11 when she joined the hit show, and admits she was staggered by how quick people were to bully her.

"It's definitely hard being self-conscious and having the world be able to tell you how they feel about you," she adds.

"Before Twitter and Instagram, if you felt a certain way about a person you didn't know, you couldn't tell them. Now I wake up and I have tweets to me about how I'm a fat, ugly blah-blah."

As a result, she’s grown a thick skin. And these days she’ll wear what she damn well wants – including her very fitted Insta-famous graduation dress.

"I looked great in it, I loved it, and that's all that matters to me," she explains. "There are so many other issues in the world that are more important than my graduation dress showing a little underboob."

"I definitely have pushed myself to deal with the good and the bad because I feel there are so many girls who need to hear positivity," she adds of drowning out the noise.

"I feel like as many of us women who can band together and discuss things in a positive way will be so beneficial. Losing one person in that discussion wouldn't be helpful."

Ariel Winter doesn't have to look far to find a role model when it comes to a woman embracing their curves.

The Modern Family actress has praised co-star Sofia Vergara for being a "curvy beautiful woman" and a "wonderful role model."

"I really had the greatest opportunity to have some wonderful role models, especially Sofia Vergara," the 18-year-old recently told Entertainment Tonight.

"Working with a curvy beautiful woman that everybody looked up to and loved the way she looked. That was my inspiration to move forward and accept myself because that's what matters."

The 18-year-old actress has been criticised in the past for posting sexy Instagram snaps but she doesn't see what the big deal is.

"I don't really think I'm telling myself, 'You should post this, you shouldn't post that,' I feel like I'm just having fun. I like my fans to see what I'm doing. Everybody is so hyped up on the fact that I post photos where my butt's out. It's a butt. Everyone has a butt. I don't think it's crazy," she added.

"It's like, 'Let me live! I'm enjoying my life, you're enjoying your life, you should be posting your butt if you like it, too!' I'm not going to fight with someone on my Instagram that tells me they don't like my outfit or I should put my butt away. I'm sorry you think I should put my butt away, but just unfollow me."

Meanwhile, Ariel also insisted she's not in a relationship with fellow actor Sterling Beaumon and has been "single for a little while now".

"We've been best friends for 10 years. We're not dating. We see each other every day but no, we're like literally best friends ... I've just kinda like been single for a little while now. I've enjoyed it, and if something happens, it happens."

Ariel Winter has fallen on the wrong side of her followers once again.

The 19-year-old actress, made famous for her role in ‘Modern Family’, posted several bikini shots on the beach on Monday. Doesn’t sound like a big deal but Monday was Memorial Day in the US: the American holiday aimed at honouring those who died while serving their country.

Ariel captioned the photos “Happy Memorial Day” and was swiftly met with backlash from her three million Instagram followers.

Several people were not happy that the star had used the day as a way of showing her body off, branding her choice as “tasteless”.

“This is disrespect to every family member that lost someone serving their country,” one person commented.

“This just goes to show the disgusting narcissism in Hollywood,” wrote another.

Another comment read: “Have some respect for people who laid their lives so you could post this. Feel free to have a beach picture but not on a day like that.”

Ariel Winter admits that she "had a hard time finding confidence" as she grew into a young woman while on Modern Family -- but that's all changed.

The 18-year-old actress poses topless in unretouched photos for SELF, and opens up about how she came to accept her curves.

"Growing up in the spotlight was quite possibly the worst for my self-esteem," she says. "When I started [Modern Family], I had a completely different body than what happened overnight at 12 years old. I was stick thin, I had no chest, I had no butt -- I had nothing. I was totally flat, and I was so sad about it. Then automatically, overnight, my body changed drastically. I was a D cup and had a bigger butt, and my waist was expanding. Everything was getting bigger. I automatically got this hate and judgment online."


Winter says it was her co-star, Sofia Vergara, that helped her come to accept her body transformation. "I had a great role model in Sofia growing up, with her being a curvy woman that was super proud of who she was and what she looked like," she shares. "[Sofia] could see that I was struggling a little bit with how to deal with my body, and was always trying to give me advice, like, 'Here are some brands that would look good on our body type,' or 'Wear whatever you want, and feel good about yourself.'"

Winter also credits her older sister, Shanelle Workman, whom she lives with, for encouraging her to be comfortable in her own skin. "I look up to her so much," she gushes. "I would listen to her talk to me, saying, 'It doesn't matter what other people think. You are who you are. It's not going to change. Love yourself for who you are. People are going to hate regardless of what you do. You could conform to everything they say, and they're still going to find something to pick. Or you could be yourself and be happy and not listen to what they say.'"

Don’t mess with Sarah Hyland‘s little sister — well, the woman who plays her little sister on Modern Family — Ariel Winter.

At the start of the show in 2009, Winter was 11 and Hyland was 18. They’ve since spent a significant part of their lives together portraying bickering sisters, so they’ve naturally bonded.

When people began leaving distasteful, leering comments on an Instagram photo Winter shared Tuesday of herself fresh-faced at the gas pump, Hyland was not having it.

She lashed out at the offending commenters, managing to do it without using any expletives — and with just a couple of insults. “To all the pervs commenting on this post?” Hyland wrote. “GET OFFLINE AND GET BACK TO YOUR BLOWUP DOLL YA CREEPS!”

Some of the noncreepy commenters lauded Hyland for standing up for her TV sis. “Real big sister down there” and “you tell em girl” were among their messages. Hyland, who’s recovering from a stay in the hospital, then took a cue from Winter and shared her own dressed-down snapshot.

Pop star Demi Lovato recently shared a glam selfie on her Instagram channel wearing a dazzling, sheer, bejeweled gown from designer Yousef Al-Jasmi.

The figure-hugging dress might look oddly familiar to fashion and award show aficionados: actress Ariel Winter wore a similar version just months ago at the 2016 Emmy Awards, in September 2016.

The embellishments on Winter’s gown, which was also designed by Yousef Al-Jasmi, varied slightly from Lovato’s. Her dress featured a nude underlay and an extremely high slit, which helped to show off her silver sandals. Unlike Lovato, who appeared to have teased her hair to complement the look, Winter slicked her tresses back, tying it into a chic, low bun.

On her Emmys red carpet look, the Modern Family actress told E!, “It’s sparkly. I feel really good in it! I saw it, I tried it on and was like, ‘This is what I want to wear.’ And that was that.”

It’s clear the Kuwait-based designer is a go-to for celebs looking to show off their curves, as reality star Kylie Jenner donned a shorter version of the dress during New York Fashion Week in 2016.

Like Winter, Jenner slicked her hair into a tight bun to put all the focus on her glitzy dress. Yeezy sandals and a denim jacket were the social media queen’s accessories of choice for the outing in New York City.

A number of other notable celebrities have also worn Al-Jasmi‘s flashy designs, including Giuliana Rancic, Khloe Kardashian, Victoria’s Secret model Jasmine Tookes, and Victoria Justice.

Ariel Winter channels old Hollywood glam for the cover of LaPalme‘s fall issue, where she’s photographed with fake bangs, full lashes, and an impossibly low-cut red dress. The 19-year-old looks all grown up in the straight-on shot that bares her chest, but it’s not the only photo where the Modern Family actress looks gorgeously glam.

Throughout the spread, shot by Mike Rosenthal and styled by creative director Derek Warburton, the body-positive advocate shows off her beautiful figure in a number of gowns, a fitted romper with a train, and a few pieces of lingerie.

On her social media, the actress is outspoken about the judgmental comments she receives regarding her wardrobe, her relationship, and what she chooses to post. The magazine shoot illustrates that Winter will continue to do as she pleases while shutting down body shamers.

Ariel Winter‘s current fashion ethos is “screw having to always look appropriate or fashionable” — and her latest look seems to uphold just that.

The 19-year-old stepped out for a shopping trip in risqué slashed T-shirt, which she opted to wear without a bra and therefore exposing her underboob. She paired the white top with bright red sweatpants and black moto boots.

Winter and her boyfriend Levi Meaden, 30, walked with fellow friends and stopped off at a baby store. She appeared confident in the revealing outfit that left very little to the imagination.

This ensemble comes just days after Winter took to Instagram to defend herself against body shaming Internet trolls who slammed her fashion choices. “Something I wish people would realize…I am not TRYING to be featured on Snapchat, I am not trying to be pap’d everywhere I do, I am literally just LIVING and unfortunately, I can’t do that without paparazzi following me around everyday,” she wrote.

Actress Ariel Winter has spoken publicly about her desire to dress the way she likes, her confidence in her own body, and her disinterest in critics of her personal style. But one person related to the 19-year-old Modern Family star is still interested in weighing in on it.

In an interview with In Touch, Winter’s estranged mother, Crystal Workman, shared her thoughts on her daughter’s tendency to gravitate toward bold styles.

“She needs to grow up. I would tell her to dress properly, be the beautiful person she is. I feel sad that she feels the need to expose herself when it’s not necessary,” Workman said. “Ariel is smart, beautiful and talented. She is a legitimate actress. She does not need to do this. She is beautiful with her clothes on.”

Many deemed a tweet by Winter to be a response to her estranged mother’s remarks.

“What’s sad is that you lie consistently. Also, why is it that you only choose to talk to me through the press? I’m doing just fine. Toxic,” Winter wrote on the platform.
The two do not have a relationship; Winter was legally emancipated from Workman in 2015 after a long court battle, in which a number of physical and emotional abuse allegations surfaced.

Workman’s thoughts on Winter’s personal style come in direct opposition to the way Winter presents herself and the open conversations she maintains with her fanbase about body confidence and positivity. She often maintains that she’ll dress the way she wants to — regardless of feedback.

“I’m definitely a makeup at the beach person, and I don’t care if people think I look ridiculous — it’s my beach day!” Winter recently told Refinery29. “Whether I want to go natural or with makeup or in sweatpants, that’s up to me. People are so stressed out about how they’re going to look in their bathing suits that they forget to go to the beach because they want to go to the beach, which defeats the whole purpose. The beach should be a safe space.”

Ariel Winter is channeling old Hollywood glamour for the Breaking In film premiere and giving a shout-out to Cardi B with her Instagram caption. In her most recent post to the social media platform, the 20-year-old actress posted a photo of herself in a strapless emerald gown featuring sparkling diamond earrings, winged liner, and her hair in side-swept curls. But the best part is how Winter alludes to the dominating female rapper, writing out a lyric from Cardi B’s song “Money Bag.”

“I said, ‘bae it’s a snack’ he said it’s an entree,” Winter wrote under the sexy photo, referring to slang that describes one’s attractiveness. And there’s no doubt that the actress looks stunning in the red carpet look.

It’s not the first time that the actress has quoted the rapper on Instagram. In another recent photo showing off her look for a magazine event, she pulled a line from Cardi B’s radio hit “I Like It,” writing, “spicy mami hot tamale.” And although Cardi has yet to comment on the use of her words, she’d likely be flattered by the beautiful Winter fangirling over her lyrics.

In an additional slideshow of photos, Winter gives credit to the multiple people of her glam squad, who are responsible for her gorgeous “snackable” look. Rocking neutral yet glamorous makeup, the actress stands out with a nude lip and fluttery lashes.

On Sunday, Levi Meaden took a knee and appeared to be proposing to Ariel Winter.

However, it appeared to be a joke for the Modern Family star and her boyfriend.

Winter took to Instagram stories to slam the media. “Levi ties my shoes and now it’s apparently a fun pre proposal for the cameras according to the internet???????? dead. Dude we didn’t even notice until you jumped from behind a tree & just … nope,” she wrote.”

Meaden, a 30-year-old actor, and Winter, who has been playing Alex Dunphy since 2009 in the much-beloved ABC sitcom Modern Family, have been dating for over a year.

Another big milestone! Ariel Winter celebrated a high school staple event in style over the weekend, attending her senior prom in a curve-hugging strapless lace gown. She documented the moment on Instagram.

"Senior #prom #2016 :) Hair//@charles_dujic Makeup// @kipzachary," she captioned one pic.

The Modern Family star also posed with her dad in her evening wear. Though she didn't share a photo with her boyfriend, Laurent Claude Gaudette, at the event, Winter did goof off with one of her friends in a separate Instagram post.

She recently got candid with ET about her romance with Gaudette, saying, "We've been together for three years and for the three years he's always been so supportive, so loving, and he's really helped me build up my confidence as well. I'm just really grateful for him."

She is preparing to start as a college freshman at the University of California, Los Angeles in the fall and couldn't be more thrilled.

"I love UCLA. Everyone in my family loves UCLA. It's an amazing school," Winter told ET earlier this month. "The college process was so long and just really, really insane. But at the end of the day, I'm so happy with UCLA."

"Mom" means a lot of things to a lot of different people. On Sunday, Ariel Winter celebrated Mother's Day with a special Instagram tribute to her older sister, Shanelle Gray.

"#HappyMothersDay to this insanely beautiful woman inside and out, my sister, my best friend," she captioned the photo. "I love you so much. You are the most amazing mother I've ever known and we are all so grateful for you!"

The Modern Family actress, who is now 18, went on to thank her sis for "those years you raised me as your own."

"So this day is your day, because you deserve the world!" she wrote. "I always feel so lucky that I have such an amazing role model. I hope one day I can be as wonderful as you I love you more than anything and am so grateful to have you. Thank you for being the most amazing person on this planet and for being my everything xoxo."

Ariel was emancipated from her birth mother after her sister was granted custody of her when she was a teen. In March she spoke with Ellen DeGeneres about the difficult decision.

"I don't really talk about the reason that I don't speak to my mother," she told Ellen. "It's kind of been publicized, but the reason I don't really share that is because I want to give her the same respect that she didn't give to me publicly."

Earlier this year, Ariel spoke with ET about the positive influence Shanelle has had on her life.

"She taught me how to love myself," she said. "A lot of things that have influenced me have come from her so I have to give her the credit."

Ariel Winter is leaving very little to the imagination!

The 18-year-old Modern Family star attended weekend two of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, where opted for a number of revealing ensembles over the course of the three-day desert style.

On Saturday, Winter flaunted her curvy figure in distressed denim cut-offs and a tiny yellow lace cropped top that featured a plunging neckline. She styled the look (which gave us major Britney Spears circa 2004 vibes!) with aviator sunglasses, comfy white sneakers and a bandana, which she tied around her neck.

This isn't the first time we've seen Winter don a cleavage-baring ensemble this month, however. On Wednesday, she turned heads in a two-piece outfit for the star-studded Glamour Game Changers lunch.

It's been nearly a year since Winter underwent a breast reduction procedure, and she's been proudly posing and posting pics ever since. In January, Winter stunned at the SAG Awards in a black Romona Keveza gown, but faced criticism for not covering up the scars she got from the surgery.

"I knew I had scars but they didn't even cross my mind that I should cover them," Winter told ET. "I thought it was so unnecessary because it doesn't make sense to me. If I didn't think about them myself, clearly I'm not ashamed of them. I don't know why anybody would be. They're not going away."
