It’s been a little while since the last Top Gear related drama but it sounds like more has found the much-anticipated reboot, with it being claimed that the BBC are now pushing back the premiere date by two weeks.
Ooft, they can’t catch a break.
Despite being dogged with filming and technical issues throughout production, it is thought that the reason they are keen to push back is because they don’t want the show to clash with Britain’s Got Talent on ITV.
Top Gear was originally due to hit our screens on the 8th May but it’s now looking more likely to be the 22nd, with a source explaining: “They’ve [bosses] pulled a sharp handbrake turn.
”‘Top Gear’ is already under intense scrutiny. They don’t want to launch against ITV’s most popular show.“
Britain’s Got Talent managed to pull in the biggest audience of the year to date last Saturday with 11.6million viewers, so it’s understandable that bosses would be a little bit apprehensive.

With a wildly successful film career and two adorable children, Charlize Theron has a lot responsibilities to balance -- which is why she says she isn't thinking about expanding her family any time soon.
"Both of my hands are really full right now," the Oscar winner told ET's Kevin Frazier at the premiere of her new film The Huntsman: Winter's War at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, California on Monday. "I think I'm good for now."
"My son [Jackson] is like, 'Let's get a cat,' and I'm like, 'No! No! No more things that need to be fed! We're slowing down,'" Theron shared.
However, the 40-year-old star couldn't be more adoring of her 4-year-old son and her infant daughter, August, who she adopted from a South African orphanage last July. At the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday's broadcast, Theron thanked her kids during her acceptance speech after winning the award for Best Female Performance for her acclaimed role as Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road.
"There was no way I couldn't thank my son because it was a tough movie for me to make. And he was in the trailer every single day," Theron shared with ET, adding that she doesn't know how she could have survived without her son being there to make her smile.

Amanda Holden’s first day guest-presenting Lorraine Kelly on ITV’s popular morning show sparked a flurry of tweets by Lorraine viewers.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge and actress is in the hot seat until April 8, but day one of her fill-in stint prompted remarks centred around her face.
Amanda is no stranger to ITV Daytime. She has presented Lorraine once before and last year she presented This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield during Holly Willoughby’s maternity leave.
But despite her credentials, a good deal of the focus on social media was about her face.
