Today’s hottest pop music acts took their respective shows on the road all the way to New York City to perform at Z100′s annual Jingle Ball concert. Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld, Shay Mitchell, and more of your nieces and nephews’ faves turned out in style for the show, mostly clinging to the festive sensibilities of the season, or just going for all black everything, which is always a good bet.

While we normally look forward to the Christmas Day special, it would seem that this year it’s all about the Christmas Day RADIO!

We’ve just been handed the Radio One Christmas Day schedule and pop fans – prepare to be impressed.

Between 1 pm and 7 pm on Christmas Day Radio One will be packed to the rafters full of pretty much a who’s who of the world of pop.

From 1 pm to 2 pm, the One Direction boys will be taking over the airways with a prerecorded Christmas Day playlist until they hand over to Demi Lovato between 2 pm and 3 pm.

Then, between 3 pm and 4 pm Troye Sivan will be on air to entertain you while you sort out all your new pressies until Little Mix arrive at 4 pm until 5 pm.

The Vamps will finish things off with their 5 pm – 6 pm slot.

Head of Programmes at Radio 1 and 1Xtra, Rhys Hughes, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to announce such a stellar line-up for Radio 1 on Christmas day. Along with the Christmas No.1 on The Official Chart with Greg James, it should be a great listen, bringing the nation together on Christmas Day.”

There must be a lot of gold and platinum records lining the walls at the Disney Channel. Numerous onetime Disney stars have gone on to successful music careers. Among them: Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Nick Jonas, all of whom are playing this year’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball at NYC’s Madison Square Garden.

With celebrities like Demi Lovato, Kim Kardashian, Zoe Saldana, and Miley Cyrus happily posing nude to promote their careers and express their “confidence,” it’s hard to imagine that revealing photos could once totally derail someone’s career.  Take actress and singer Vanessa Williams.

 Lovato said in an accompanying video. “It’s empowering, and it shows other woman that you can get to a place where you can overcome body-image issues and you can feel comfortable and confident in your skin.” Twitter lit up with support and the hashtag #WeAreProudOfYouDemi.

When it comes to celebrity images like Lovato’s, it’s open for debate as to whether it really make women feel empowered or if it sends a confusing message. Explains Newsom: “As long as we celebrate the Kardashians of the world, we are sending the message that you have to modify and overly sexualize your body in order to be valued. Too many young girls grow up thinking their value lies in their looks, and that’s a very troubling message.” 

It was a star-studded night at the American Music Awards, with One Direction, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj taking home top prizes.
