Bollywood actress, pop sensation and a recognised face in the West now, Priyanka Chopra or we shall call her the Quantico girl, has begun shooting for Baywatch with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram to announce the commencement of the shooting of Baywatch and posted a video of the two calling each other biggest stars in the world from their shoot location which happens to be a sea side.


Dwayne, who had originally posted the video was later reposted by Priyanka wrote, "She's one of the biggest stars in the world. Insanely talented, relentlessly smokin' and extremely dangerous - perfect for #BAYWATCH. Welcome @PriyankaChopra to our bad ass and incredibly dysfunctional family. Cue RATED R slo-mo running on the beach. We start shooting next week. World.. #WelcomeToBaywatch." 

Priyanka Chopra, who won rave reviews for her performance in American TV show Quantico, was one of the presenters at the Academy Awards 2016 and the Indian diva looked absolutely stunning on the Oscar red carpet.

PeeCee strutted in wearing an off-shoulder white gown by Zuhair Murad and looked like a million bucks. The desi girl soared the temperature with her sheer mermaid-style gown and made many heads turn in her direction. A ponytail, teardrop diamond earrings, some rocks on the fingers and oxblood lips completed her look.


Chopra gave away the award for Best Film Editing at the Academy Awards, this year.

Priyanka Chopra, who had wowed her fans with her role as FBI recruit Alex Parrish in ABC show Quantico, bagged her first Hollywood project Baywatch opposite Dwayne Johnson and we just learned something interesting about the casting decision.

It seems that Priyanka will be seen playing the antagonist in the film and that the role was originally written for a male character. However, when Priyanka came on board, the role was slightly altered after it was decided that the antagonist will be played by Chopra. Reportedly, Priyanka will have quite a few heavy-duty action sequences in the film.


The movie centres on the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Johnson), who is forced to team up with a young, hotshot former Olympian ( Zac Efron) to save their beloved bay.

We have already reported that actress Priyanka Chopra will be making her Hollywood debut with Baywatch, in which she will play the antagonist, but not many know how she bagged the role.

We have learned that Priyanka met Seth Gordon, the director of the film on Skype and they both had a discussion about the film, when it was decided that she would play the negative role though it was initially decided that the villain would be played by a man. Priyanka is quite excited about her role in the film, which also stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

Priyanka is currently seen playing FBI recruit Alex Parrish in ABC show Quantico.

Priyanka Chopra, who will be essaying the role of a female IPS officer in Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal, recently shared a teaser video of the film's making on her Instagram account, which shows the ace director taking his crew members to task.

Priyanka shared the video with her fans and along with it she, wrote, ''Here's a little known fact about Prakash Jha... apart from being an amazing director, he also has a talent for making grown men quake in their boots every time he picked up the directors mike! Fun to watch when it's directed elsewhere... scary to be on the receiving end! #PrakashJha sorry sir but I just couldn't resist! #jaigangaajal.''


Jha is making his full-fledged acting debut with the cop drama and has been getting rave reviews for his performance in the movie, ever since the trailer of the film has been unveiled. Priyanka, who is presently shooting for the second season of her American TV showQuantico, is also making all the right noises with her tough cop act.

Now, it remains to be seen how the witty filmmaker will respond to his star's playful post.

With so much going on in the diva’s life, we decided to have a quick chat with Priyanka over a call. Here’s what we spoke about:

First PCA, then SAGS and now Oscars. You are on a roll Priyanka. How does it feel?

I am very excited about it of course because as an actor who is from India, though I am working here, it is a great cultural exchange. I am excited to be on the stage and to see how the evening will unfold. There has been some amazing cinema this year. I thank the Academy for including me as a part of the industry, considering that my show just aired in September.

Is it safe to say that you are now more into Hollywood than Bollywood?

I have never claimed that I would do only Hollywood. I go wherever my work takes me, it doesn’t matter which part of the world it is. I am an artist and I am only true to my art. I speak English and Hindi. Today I am in America, tomorrow I can be somewhere else (Laughs). I am not binding myself by borders and the World has become to small now. Actors should be cast on their merit and how they do their job and not for how they look or come from. That is how I see myself. I am an Indian actor first. Whatever I have learnt is from the Hindi film industry first. I have been trained well enough to go anywhere in the World and know my job.

What has been your family’s reaction to you being included as a presenter at Oscars 2016?


My mom has been sitting with me because since the beginning of the month something or the other has been happening. First there was PCA, then the award for Bajirao Mastani, then me going for SAGS and then there was Padma Shri, so something kept happening. She was supposed to go back to India but she ended up staying with me because it is a very exciting time right now to accumulate lot of love not just in India but also in a country where I am completely new. As an actor, for me it seems like I am being validated and I am probably doing right. I am getting encouragement to do what I am doing and that I should continue to do so.

Can this be called the best phase of your career?

No, as soon as you say best it means there is nothing more to come, which is not the case.

Priyanka Chopra has arrived in Hollywood and there can't be a better testimony than this. The Indian actress will be presenting the Oscar at this year's Academy Awards and she's really 'looking forward' to the big night.

Depictions of strong female characters are undeniably few and far between in the mainstream media. Actress Priyanka Chopra's portrayal of Alex Parrish, protagonist of the action-packed ABC thriller Quantico, is a notable exception. A day ago, actress Priyanka Chopra, who is seen playing FBI recruit Alex Parrish in ABC show Quantico, had tweeted about her nervousness after being nominated in the Favourite Actress in a New TV Series category in the People's Choice Awards 2016 for Quantico.

Today, the actress is on cloud nine after bagging the award and an excited Priyanka took to Twitter to share this news with her fans. Taking to her Twitter page, Priyanka wrote, ''I am so fortunate!Thank U to everyone who voted for me at the #PCAs! My #PCManiacs-I am nothing without you!Big love.'' Chopra was presented with the award by none other than Hollywood action star Vin Diesel and incidentally, Priyanka is the first Indian to bag this honour.

But I get compensated for the work I do and I don’t think there is anything wrong with a woman or a professional for that matter being compensated for the work that they do. But if you ask in comparison, please go and ask the boys all over the world what they earn. 

Ques: In real life, will you fight for your love?
Priyanka: I will always fight for my love. Woh pyaar hi kya jiske liye ladai na ki. It will be boring.
