The Apocalypse is nigh.
After teasing a select few fans and journalists with some footage at Comic-Con back in July, Marvel and Fox finally dropped the first official trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, the third film in director/producer Bryan Singer’s young-mutant trilogy. (It’s the 9th X-Men movie overall.) This time around, the mutants face their biggest adversary yet: the godlike, original mutant Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac, who is recognizable underneath all that CGI. Watch the trailer above.
The clip begins with the young Jean Grey (Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner) having visions of death in her sleep. Though she’s reassured by Professor X (James McAvoy) that it’s just a bad dream
There are several newcomers this time around, including new versions of characters we saw in the earlier batch of X-Men movies. In addition to a younger Storm and Jean Grey, we also meet a new Cyclops (Tye Sheridan).
