At the Republican presidential debate on Thursday night, frontrunner Donald Trump ended his bromance with Ted Cruz by bringing up the birther issue, defended New York’s liberal values, and doubled-down on his proposed ban on Muslim immigrants. His big statements were in his fighting words, rather than fashion: The candidate, a fan of spray tans and Savile Row suits, wore a blue blazer and red tie to honor his party and United States flag pin for his country. But if the real estate tycoon fell short on the sartorial front, his cheering section more than made up for it.
