Get yer nut round this ya slaaaags.
EastEnders ‘hardman’ Danny Dyer has been shortlisted for a trophy at the British Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Awards.
The 38-year-old, who plays pub landlord Mick Carter on EastEnders, has stiff competition.
He’s shortlisted in the Celebrity Straight Ally category that honours straight heterosexual stars who have supported the LGBT community.
Danny’s up against Bette Midler, Kim Cattrall, Jennifer Saunders, Nigella Lawson, Holly Willoughby, Brian May and Hollyoaks actor James Suttton, who plays gay teacher John Paul McQueen in the soap.
The nod for Danny comes after his EastEnders character accepted son Johnny coming out as gay on the show – who it was announced this week will soon be played by theatre actor Ted Reilly.
Danny’s chance at getting the gong – which would be his second this year after he picked up Best Serial Drama Performance for his role in EastEnders at January’s National Television Awards, above – will be helped by his experience shutting down homophobic trolls on Twitter.
