It was supposed to be THE film of last year - unfortunately it turned out to be a damp squib and left the junta letdown. Dilwale failed to create the magic that was expected of it. Now it seems that the cast of the film is also not too happy.
First it was SRK who expressed his disappointment with the film’s box office collections openly quite recently. Next came Kajol who seemed to felt the same way about the Rohit Shetty film. Apparently Kajol feels that she may have made a mistake by turning down Sujoy Ghosh’s Durga Rani Singh, a powerful role, by agreeing to star in the Rohit Shetty flick. Kajol believes that Sujoy Ghosh's film would have given her a chance to showcase her ability as an actor in a more powerful way.
Now it seems Varun Dhawan has also joined the gang of the disappointed. Grapevine has it that Varun Dhawan is unhappy with the way his character was shown in the film. The actor feels he was merely ‘padding’ to the central plot that revolved around Shah Rukh and Kajol. In the same year that he delivered big hits with Badlapur and ABCD 2, Varun apparently feels slighted at having being reduced to the comic sidekick in a Shah Rukh Khan vehicle.
It seems that while the Rohit Shetty family entertainer may have succeeded at the box office, it failed miserably when it came to keeping the fans entertained.
