Contract Marriages: Fake it Till You Make It

With all the money in the world, you can buy anything including a wife and her … liver? After finding out that his mum is in dire need of a liver transplant, a rich man (Lee Seo Jin) decides to marry a poor single mum (UEE) and settle her mountain of debt. In exchange, he gets a partner to please his mum and of course, her much needed liver. On the other hand, she agrees to the marriage as she needs a guardian for her daughter after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Now, isn’t that a perfect Korean melodrama in the making?


Lie to Me

Unlike typical contract marriage dramas, this time the lady (Yoon Eun Hye) makes the move first. No, she’s not the richer one but unfortunately the reckless other. She lies to her friends that she’s married and rumours start flying about her being together with the president of a hotel (Kang Ji Hwan). Taken by surprise, the president tries to fight the scandal but eventually realises that the fake marriage might work to his advantage. Of course it would! 

We Got Married

Despite the endless criticisms for the make believe marriage variety show, it’s still standing strong after 8 years. Moving into its fourth season, the show has seen top actors, popular K-pop singers and even entertainers being paired together. You would think that with such a romantic setting, it’s hard not to fall in love. However, only Jun Jin and Lee Si Young aka Gundam Couple officially dated after the show.
