Dennis Trillo was recently named Movie Actor of the Year at the 2016 PMPC Star Awards for Movies for his role in the historical-biographical film, "Felix Manalo".
As reported on ABS-CBN News, the actor, who shared the status with Piolo Pascual, who also won Movie Actor of the Year for his role in "Silong", expressed his gratitude towards his family and loved ones for the love and support they gave him.
But as reported on Rappler, it was Trillo's shout-out to rumoured on-again-off-again girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado that attracted the most attention.
He expressed, "To Jennylyn, thank you very much. I'm sad she isn't here, but congratulations to her, too."
His movie, "Felix Manalo", also became one of the biggest winners that night, earning five accolades including Movie of the Year and Movie Director of the Year for Joel Lamangan.
