From Gwen Stefani to Diane Kruger: Let's Talk About Those Nearly Nude Dresses on Oscar Night

Quite a few stars made major statements on Oscar night, and they didn't even need to bring home gold statuettes to do so. Yep, we're talking about the ladies who wore nearly nothing to the Academy Awards after parties.

Listen, sometimes it's more comfortable to be in your birthday suit, and who are we to argue with the women who chose to display most of theirs in (mostly) tasteful fashion?

We obviously have to start with Gwen Stefani, who pulled an American Beauty by seemingly wearing nothing but petals to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday.

The red, semi-sheer Vanina Couture gown stuck out in a sea of glamorous dresses, if for no other reason than everyone was trying to figure out how it stayed together. It made an even bigger statement when she simply stood next to her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, who wore jeans.

Diane Kruger's dress requires a few visuals to get the full picture of how one can wear so much maroon and yet show so much skin. Let's start with the front view of this jaw-dropping Reem Acra number:

Emily Ratajkowski may have worn more sheer fabric than both Gwen and Diane combined, if that's a thing that is even possible. This Steven Khalil piece feels like she posed for a boudoir portrait and then forgot to put on pants. But, hey, if anyone can pull off wearing a corset as a dress, it's the We Are Your Friends star.

Don't worry, the Hunger Games actress Meta Golding went for a very similar but far more bedazzled vibe for the 24th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation's Oscar Viewing Party in West Hollywood, California.
