The 43-year-old actor attended the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night after the news broke. He was one of the last people to arrive and walked the red carpet alone without giving any interviews. Elba went on to win in the Best Supporting Actor category at the awards for his role in Beasts of No Nation.
At the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January, Elba took his 15-year-old daughter, Isan, along as his date. Isan is the actor’s daughter with ex-wife, Dormowa Sherman.
Elba and Garth started dating in 2013, and in 2014 the couple welcomed a son together, Winston Elba.
