Salman Khan Claims He Was Falsely Implicated In Poaching Case

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who was accused of being in possession of illegal weapons and poaching the endangered blackbuck in Rajasthan years ago during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain, pleaded not guilty in a local court in Jodhpur, where he had been summoned to get his statement recorded.

After replying to questions posed by the court regarding his name, his father's name, age, residential address and caste, Salman plead not guilty and also added that he has been falsely implicated in the case. Salman and a few other Bollywood stars were accused of poaching blackbucks on the night of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain.

Two blackbucks, a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act, were killed on the outskirts of Kankani village near Jodhpur. Salman is accused of carrying and using illegal arms in killing the protected animals. He is also alleged to have been carrying arms with expired licences.

The court has kept the next hearing for April 4.
