More filmmakers express frustration over "Ten Years'" win

More and more filmmakers and industry players have come forward to express their dissatisfaction over the recent victory of controversial film "Ten Years" at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

As reported on Yahoo! HK, producers Raymond Wong, director Daniel Lam, and former Chairman of the Federation of Motion Film Producers of Hong Kong, Crucindo Hung, are among those who have expressed their frustration over what they deemed as an emotional judgment rather than a professional decision on the jury's part.

Raymond snide that if a controversial movie can win Best Film, then he might as well shoot one himself, while actor Henry Fong stated that "Little Big Master" was a better choice to win Best Film.

Henry's opinion was shared by Daniel Lam, one of the producers of "Little Big Master", who admitted that he was disappointed with the result.

Hong Kong director Andrew Lau also expressed his confusion as to why "Port of Call" did not win Best Film when it dominated other major categories and was even nominated in 13 categories altogether.

As for Crucindo, the former chairman stated that the choice was an outrageous decision and that nobody will respect the award if the HKFA Association continues this practice.
