Hong Kong singer-actress Stephy Tang has finally addressed her breakup with Alex Fong and rumours of lesbian relationship, after spending some time away from the public's eye recently.
As reported on Apple Daily, the singer, who landed in Hong Kong on 28 January, stated that she left for Taiwan a few days after announcing her breakup in order to refresh and to cool her head.
"Aside from it being a vacation, there were some things that I needed to take care of. I didn't even dare to read the reports for the first few days," she said.
Stephy stressed that the decision and reason behind her breakup with Alex will always be a private matter between them, and that it would be hard to explain it to others.
As for rumours of a lesbian romance with Taiwanese volleyball player, Teng Yen-min, Stephy clarified that Teng was just a regular friend.
"If people would just look at the matter in a simple manner, things would not be so complicated," she said.
The singer stressed that her denial does not mean that she is against same-sex relationship, but that such rumours would hurt others around her.
