Demi Lovato shows off her seriously impressive boxing skills

Demi Lovato has given her fans major fitness goals after showing off her skills during a particularly intense workout. The 23-year-old singer hit the gym where she mixed boxing and resistance training to stay in shape, turning to celebrity trainer Jay Glazer to help.

The I Really Don't Care hitmaker posted a short video of her exercise session for her 38.6 million Instagram followers, explaining that it had been a particularly tough session.

"Boxing with @jayglazer at #unbreakable on a machine called the raptor," she explained in the caption which accompanied the clip. "By far one of the hardest workouts I've ever done!!!"

The singer had previously revealed that she wasn't feeling her "fittest", but inspired her fans with a positive body image message when she posted a striking selfie on Snapchat, flaunting her gorgeous figure in a pale blue, striped bikini.

"My body isn't perfect, I'm not my fittest, but this is me!! And I [heart emoji] it," she wrote alongside the eye-catching snap.

Demi is not the only star who has been using boxing techniques to stay in shape. As well as supermodel Gigi Hadid, who often shares snaps as she trains in the ring, British beauty Ellie Goulding previously explained why boxing became one of her go-to exercises, particularly bringing benefits to enhance her performance on stage.

"Boxing is very animalistic and there's a lot of adrenaline in it," the Love Me Like You Do singer told Marie Claire. "It has helped my stamina. When I'm onstage, I feel like I could go on forever.

"Without wanting to use that clichéd word, I feel empowered. I've got the power to defend myself. It's a great feeling to know that you don't have to have a bloke around to protect you."
