Although Jennifer Lawrence‘s deal to star in the “X-Men” franchise alongside James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult expires with “Apocalypse,” she would “love to come back” for more.
“I would love to come back,” Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly. “I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.”
The actress, who has been very open about her dislike for the body paint that’s required for her character Mystique, now says she is the one who goes back and forth most on whether or not to reprise her role in another “X-Men.”
“Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking,” she said, “Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.”
“X-Men: Apocalypse” opens on May 27 and reunites much of the cast from “X-Men: First Class” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” including McAvoy, Lawrence, Fassbender and Hoult. Newcomers include Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tye Sheridan, Oscar Isaac and Olivia Munn.
