Tavia Yeung raises awareness for neglected children

Hong Kong actress Tavia Yeung is calling for the public to assist the 60 million children in China who are left behind by their parents who are struggling to make a living in cities.

According to On CC, the actress, who attended the charity event hosted by Oxfam – an organisation focusing on reducing poverty, stated that she felt close to these children since she can also be considered a child of a single mother.

"My father passed away early and although my mother did remarry, I still consider myself someone who grew up in a single parent home," she said.

Tavia said that there are a lot of things that these children who are left behind could not enjoy, and that she is touched by how strong and independent they are.

"I have sponsored some of these children myself, and I hope others would do the same as well," she said.
