The ‘We Belong Together’ singer’s complex started when she was 19 years old and doing her first-ever photo shoot and the photographer pointed out her “good side”.
After hearing the critique, MiMi “didn’t like” photos of her left side and wouldn’t let photographers shoot her from that angle for years.
In 2009, she said she was finally OK with her left side.
“I don’t feel like, ‘Oh, I have to be on this side, or I have to be on this side’ — I really had specific things that someone told me when I was 19 starting in the business, and I listened to them … I don’t care anymore,” she told the Associated Press.
“Sometimes I like that [left] side — and Nick likes that side better anyway,” she added, referring to her then-husband, Nick Cannon.
Perhaps this throwback means she really has embraced herself from every angle.
