Paris Jackson has insecurities just like the rest of us. But in an effort to exemplify body positivity, she posted a topless photo on Instagram yesterday with a meaningful message. “[C]omfortable in my rolls. f*** wit me,” she captioned a photo of herself in nothing but a pair of gray Calvin Klein underwear (coincidentally — or not — she’s a spokesmodel for the brand).
The model is slouched over in a chair with her face out of frame. While we don’t see any “rolls,” it doesn’t really matter what we see; we’re just happy she’s comfortable in her skin. Especially since we know she’s battled insecurities.
In an interview with i-D, Jackson revealed, “I still have countless insecurities and fears, like everyone else I know. … But we’re getting there, slowly but surely. Which is a big reason I want to change this fashion-beauty stigma, so it’s not as difficult for people around the world to feel beautiful just the way they are.”
It’s no surprise to see Jackson so vulnerable. A few weeks ago she walked a red carpet makeup-free, looking more beautiful than ever. After Jackson’s VMAs red carpet debut showing off armpit hair while wearing a dreamy Dior dress, she got a lot of criticism. “I didn’t realize that people were going to get so upset over my armpit hair,” she said on Snapchat. “I didn’t realize that was such an issue. It is so funny.
“I love hair, and sweat, and BO. I think it’s great. … Some people think that it’s like super disgusting, especially on girls, but every human body does it. It’s natural. Get over it,” she said.
And it’s not only armpit hair she flaunts. In August, she posted an Instagram photo lauding the length of her leg hair. “[I]f you’re not competing with your brother over who can grow longer leg hair wyed,” she captioned the shot showcasing her bare legs.
She’s also went topless last month to show off a new elaborate chest tattoo.
And while that post wasn’t directed at body positivity, it’s clear Jackson will be playing a model role in shutting down stigmas. “I really want to leave a positive imprint in the fashion world,” Jackson has said. “I already have many young girls looking up to me, and I want to be something their parents are OK with them looking up to.”
