The mark of a truly impressive model, is being able to take even the most outlandish looks and transform them into something that’s impossibly chic. Gigi Hadid might have her critics, but she was able to take an ill-fitting pair of pants and create an image that not only makes the trousers look cool, but send a pretty funny message as well.
Hadid’s featured on the cover of Vogue Netherlands for its November issue. While she’s fully clothed on the front page — sporting a gray T-shirt, Chanel tweed jacket, and jeans — one of the editorial’s images features the 20-year-old topless in just ill-fitting bottoms and bedhead.
Hadid shared the snap to Instagram with the caption, “When Subway needs a new spokesperson…” Joe Jonas’s girlfriend, who’s holding the waistline of the gray tweed piece out to show off her toned abs, referenced the old Jared Fogle ads for Subway in which he displayed how eating sandwiches was integral to dropping lots of pounds.
Sure, it’s funny timing to call attention to the spokesperson who was recently disassociated from the deli chain for his child pornography proclivities, but it’s still a hilarious comparison. Who said fashionistas have don’t have senses of humor?
