Maine Mendoza's stylist sues fashion blogger

Celebrity stylist Liz Uy recently revealed that she is suing Fashion Pulis writer, Michael Sy Lim, over his previous blog posts.

As reported on Push, Uy's lawyer, Irene Besido-Gracia, stated that the stylist's complaints - 6 of libel and 1 of slander, were caused by several incidents involving her celebrity client Maine Mendoza.

Previously in October, Lim revealed in his Fashion Pulis article that Mendoza wore a supposedly 'recycled gown' at the TV event "Eat Bulaga's AlDub: Sa Tamang Panahon" - the same Francis Libiran dress that was worn by Kim Chiu at a different event.

Lim also published a different post about Mendoza's jacket for her "Preview" magazine photo shoot, stating that Uy herself has worn the same jacket previously.

The blogger also refuted Libiran's claim that Mendoza's gown was from his 2015 Spring/Summer Collection, stating that Chiu was wearing the same dress in 2013.

In addition, he posted several tweets about the incidents and even criticises Uy's hand-me-down choices for Mendoza.

In a written statement from Uy, she stressed that the Libiran dress was not recycled, quoting the designer's previous clarification that Kim Chiu only modelled the dress once and it has not been worn at any other event by any other celebrity since then.

As for the jacket, Uy stressed that she was not the stylist for the photo shoot and was at a different event at Marriott Hotel at the time.

If Lim is found guilty, he will face a count of six to 12 years imprisonment, based on charges of cybercrime libel.

Uy's legal rep also stated that the stylist's decision to sue was not for profit but to clear her name.
