Ahead of their Dec. 20 season finales, Showtime has renewed both Homeland and The Affair for new seasons, Variety has learned.
Homeland was picked up for Season 6, and The Affair for Season 3. While premiere dates have not been set, both are expected to return with their new seasons in 2016.
The renewals come as no surprise. The pickups were expected, as the dramas rank as the top two highest-rated premium cable series for this quarter, in addition to bringing much critical acclaim and award recognition to Showtime.
