For a lot of fans, a visit from Taylor Swift would be the ultimate Christmas present. But for 13-year-old cancer patient Delaney Clements, it was nothing short of a miracle.
In 2014, Delaney, who has been battling a rare form of childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma for five years, posted her take on Swift’s “Shake it Off” and said it would be a dream to meet the singer. And with the help of a social media campaign using the hashtag #DelaneyMeetTaylor, on December 19th, that dream came true. Delaney explained how it happened on Instagram: “I was just laying down taking a nap in my room when my mom said I had a visitor…then Taylor Swift walked into my bedroom and spent the afternoon with me…”
