'Hateful Eight' Called 'Snuff Film' by Media Watchdog

Quentin Tarantino’s movie is “a snuff film with big-name stars,” says Dan Gainor of the conservative Media Research Center.

After tallying up all the blood and gore in director Quentin Tarantino’s new film, a conservative watchdog group is telling its audience that it really hates The Hateful Eight, and that they will, too.

“It’s Ten Little Indians for sociopaths and sadists. A snuff film with big-name stars,” says Dan Gainor, vp of business and culture for the Media Research Center, an nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by frequent Fox News guest Brent Bozell.

According to the MRC, The Hateful Eight contains “49 acts of brutal violence — shootings, stabbings, a hanging, torture, forced gay oral sex and several incidents where women were shot or beaten.”

“There were 32 separate shootings — including especially graphic headshots,” the MRC says in a soon-to-be-published report. The MRC also will note what it sees as hypocrisy, given Tarantino’s support of gun control.

The report, replete with spoilers that includes who dies and who doesn’t in the film, also will note that Tarantino is “really annoyed” when people accuse him of glorifying violence in his movies.

The MRC report also quotes MSNBC host Joe Scarborough calling Tarantino “a pornographer of violence.”

The Hateful Eight is “overwritten, overacted and grotesque,” according to the MRC. Plus, the characters swear an awful lot and use the N-word frequently “to remind audiences the film was edgy.”
