After a difficult end to 2015, 2016 is starting with an upswing for Lamar Odom. After being released from the hospital this month, the Nye County District Attorney’s Office has announced it will not press charges against Odom for the drug overdose that landed him in the hospital.
“Although the evidence showed Mr. Odom had metabolized cocaine in his system while he was present in Nye County in October of 2015, he was not found in the possession of cocaine and it is unlikely it could established beyond a reasonable doubt he actually ingested, or was impaired by, the drug during the time he was within the jurisdiction of Nye County,” District Attorney Angela A. Bello’s office said to The Insider With Yahoo in a statement.
Odom, 36, was found unconscious in a room at the legal brothel Bunny Love Ranch on October 13, 2015. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered that he had suffered a stroke and brain trauma while unconscious. Crack cocaine was found in the former basketball player’s system.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show a month later, Khloé Kardashian, who put the former couple’s divorce proceedings on hold and spent almost all her time by Odom’s side while he recovered, said that Odom hadn’t been told the full story about what landed him in the hospital.
