There’s a new breastfeeding buzzword on the block…breastercising! Two weeks after giving birth most mums are in the midst of the newborn fog and feel lucky if they manage to make it out of their pyjamas before dinner, but not Sharny Kieser. The 35-year-old personal trainer sent the twitterati into meltdown earlier this week after she was pictured exercising while breastfeeding her two-week-old son, Magnus.
Snapped by her husband, Julius, the mum of six, (yes you read that right, SIX!) shared the photo on Facebook with the hashtag #breastercising. ‘I caught Sharny multitasking today. In public,’ he wrote.

But just how healthy is pushing your body so soon after giving birth? The NHS website advises that if you had a straight forward birth you can start gentle exercising as soon as you feel ok to do so. These gentle exercises can include walking, stretching and pelvic floor exercises.

ReplyDeleteI wish people would stop posting these pics its an opportunity to show your boobs off and get the perverts aroused...what ever happened to covering up...as a child in the 80's i saw new mothers all the time with a baby cloth thrown over herself and the baby...i found it to be so classy and mothering...i hate my generation everything is acceptable...i get it!!!its a part of life but its an appropriate time and place for everything...including all the sexism in the world...you are for your husband or wife only....COVER UP WORLD this is not ok some people get off on this...its not very motherly
ReplyDeletePhenomena very beneficial after birth
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ms C, leave the kid alone while you workout. If u feel need to feed it then cover up or go to the family restroom to be in private. The rest of us are there to get get fit and not necessarily to look at boobs and gets sucking them. I know its a me me type now days but come on think of others too.
ReplyDeleteBoobs aren't a big deal anymore. They're everywhere all the time. You're probably right that we have become numb to stuff like this. I mean I'm more freaked out that you cant put your baby down to do a few lunges for 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteGreat job !
