"My Bebe Love" actress Ai-Ai delas Alas has recently expressed her dissatisfaction that the Star Cinema movie, "Beauty and the Bestie", was reported to be leading the Metro Manila Film Festival box office race.
According to PEP News, previously, it was reported that the Coco Martin and Vice Ganda-starrer is now the highest grossing MMFF movie as it reaches the PHP400 million mark, beating her own movie despite the involvement of the nation's biggest tandem of 2015, Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza.
However, delas Alas recently made a statement refuting the record, saying, "In our hearts, in the heart of AlDub Nation, in the heart of the Filipino people, we are number one. Because everything that we do, there is no deception."
Her response might refer to the previous ticket-swapping controversy, in which fans reported several incidents that they were given tickets to "Beauty and the Bestie" instead when purchasing tickets for the movie "My Bebe Love" in cinemas.
Some alleged that the ticket supervisors have asked the employees to push selling tickets for the Star Cinema movie instead despite the huge amount of demands for "My Bebe Love".
"No matter what they say, we are number one," she said.
On the other hand, Mico del Rosario, manager of Star Cinema's Advertisement and Promotions, recently blasted the comedienne for her refusal to accept the fact, saying, "Stop being bitter. At the end of the day, just create contents that the audiences need. That's all." #ALDUB
