According to Oricon Style, the biggest music chart provider in Japan, VIXX’ first official Japanese album ‘Depend on me’, released on January 27, reached the summit of Oricon Album Daily Chart on February 1.
The album consists of seven Japanese tracks and four Korean. The Japanese version of songs ‘Chained up’ and ‘Error’, Korean songs ‘ECHO’ and ‘Goodbye your love’ as well as its title ‘Depend on me’ are included in it.
Album ‘Depend on me’ ranked fourth on its day of issue and rose to the top in three days. It was all the more meaningful because the group competed with the top Japanese entertainer Yamashita Tomohisa. The record clearly represented VIXX’s popularity in the country.
The group ran a promotion event since January 13 in the local area. VIXX closely interacted with its fans through various events and live concerts in little venues.
Moreover, the group’s picture covered Shibuya Street, which is the center of Tokyo’s downtown area. The buildings on the street were covered with huge electronic displays, posters and flags with the members’ faces. There was also a bus covered with VIXX’ posters. The colorful scene caught the local residents walking by the street.
