Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher has spoken about her relationship with co-star Harrison Ford, and discussed whether she’ll continue to appear in the blockbusting movies.
During an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, the 59-year-old said she is happy to carry on in her famous role of General Leia, “if they don’t kill me”.
Carrie returned to Star Wars for The Force Awakens, the seventh entry in the space opera, alongside Harrison as Han Solo and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker.
Filming is under way for the forthcoming eighth movie, which is due for release in 2017
Carrie is Hollywood royalty – her mother Debbie Reynolds starred in classic musical Singing In The Rain with Gene Kelly. Debbie was also the star of the Tammy series, a franchise about a clean-living teenager who wanted to find love.
Carrie’s father was crooner Eddie Fisher. He left Debbie for Elizabeth Taylor and became the late star’s fourth husband.
When Jonathan Ross asked if anything romantic developed between her and Harrison during the making of the original 1977 Star Wars movie, Carrie said she was “brought up by Tammy”.
