British actor Charlie Cox is back in his red suit as Daredevil for a new season – and he admits that things are about to “go bad” for his character Matt Murdock.
With the second 13-episode run ready for a must-have binge on Netflix, Matt is up against fellow vigilante The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Yung), a mysterious woman from his past.
When we last saw Matt – who was blinded as a young boy and imbued with extraordinary senses, and now fights against injustice as a lawyer by day and masked superhero Daredevil by night – his thirst for justice had successfully put the shadowy figure of Wilson Fisk behind bars.
“Matt’s feeling pretty good about himself, he’s reconciled his feelings over the Catholic guilt he felt and is really enjoying his work. He does it with a smile on his face. I think there’s an arrogance and a swagger to him now,” explains Charlie of his character in season two. “Then of course, these two guys show up.”
