Harry Styles has landed his first major acting role, following One Direction’s ‘hiatus’ last year.
The floppy-haired mega-babe has only gone and landed himself a role in a proper Hollywood film – in Christopher Nolan’s World War Two epic, 'Dunkirk’.
Yes, folks, that’s Christopher Nolan off of 'Inception’ and 'The Dark Knight Rises’. So like, PROPER films and that.
Pretty big deal, huh?
According to those boys and girls at The Sun, Harry will be starring alongside the equally talented/fit Tom Hardy (!) as well as Oscar-winner and Tudor enthusiast Mark Rylance.
The film tells the story of the Dunkirk evacuation, which saw British forces evacuated from northern France at the height of World War Two.
I mean, it’s not exactly 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding’, but it’s probably one of those films you’d pretend you went to see during Oscar season.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Harry has gone straight in at the top. Dunkirk will be massive.
“He was asked to audition for the part — which will be substantial — and impressed Christopher. This is now a great chance for him to show his acting skills and put himself in the frame for more huge movie roles.
“But music is still very much on his agenda and he would like to do both going forward.”
Well, thank god for that, eh?
We for one can’t wait to see Mr Styles all wet, rugged and manly on the Normandy beaches – watch out, Academy Awards.
