Isabella Cruise has admitted it was hard not having her father walk her down the aisle at her wedding to Max Parker. The low-key nuptials took place at the Dorchester Hotel in London in September, and the exclusive guest list was limited to just close friends. Neither Bella's parents, Tom Cruise or Nicole Kidman, nor Max's attended.
Their absence led to reports that Bella has a strained relationship with her mum and dad – but she dismissed that during a new interview with the Mail Online. "Of course we talk, they're my parents!" she reiterated.
Max's mother, Beverly Parker, was asked how she felt about missing the big day. "We didn't go, but we all knew about it. We stayed away, we didn't want a media circus," she said, when asked why she didn't attend.
"The pair of them are lovely," she said of the couple. "I'm very pleased for them both and they're very happy."
Beverly also revealed that she and her husband Lester are yet to meet Tom or Nicole, but added: "There's no need for that. At the end of the day, they're just people aren't they?"
