Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools surprised fans this week with the news they are expecting their fifth child together – and the TV chef has admitted his family were as shocked as anyone about their pregnancy announcement.
Speaking to the Mirror moments after Jools, 41, showed off her prominent baby bump for the first time, Jamie said: "I love kids, my family keep me honest. I have a weird job, a weird life, but my family keeps my quite real. I thought we'd have a couple of kids, but that's about it.
"Basically I do what I'm told, but she's an amazing family maker, and I just go with it!"
Jamie and Jools, who have been married for 15 years, are already parents to Poppy Honey Rose, 13, Daisy Boo Pamela, 12, Petal Blossom Rainbow, six, and son Buddy Bear Maurice, five.
Asked whether he would prefer the new arrival to be a boy or a girl, the 40-year-old replied: "You know what, I'm always grateful for what I get.
"It would be nice to balance it out a bit. A bit more testosterone would probably be a good thing, but do you know what, I'm just grateful for whatever I get if it's healthy, and I mean that sincerely."
