Leonardo DiCaprio is officially more popular than selfies.
According to Fortune, the actor’s Oscar win for his role in The Revenant was the most tweeted Academy Awards moment in Twitter history — far surpassing the previous most-tweeted moment: Ellen DeGeneres’s star-studded selfie from the 2014 Oscars.

At its peak performance, that famous Samsung-sponsored selfie — which included the A-list likes of Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong’o, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt, and Jennifer Lawrence, among others — was racking up 255,000 tweets per minute. But Leo Dio’s big moment? A whopping 440,000.
There may not be a trophy for getting that kind of social media frenzy (well, not that we’re aware of), but just know that we’re proud of ya, Mr. DiCaprio — and we aren’t afraid to tell the whole world. In 140 characters or fewer, of course.
