Top Cat! Panda kept watch over it’s owner’s bump and now does the same to the baby [Photo: Facebook/Liel Ainmar Assayag]
For many cat owners, introducing a new baby into the family fold can throw up all sorts of worries. Will the cat be jealous of the baby? Will the baby be jealous of the cat? Will the baby pull the cat’s tail? And so on…
But Liel Ainmar Assayag had no such concerns because their cat, Panda and newborn son, Sean have been BFFs even before Sean was born.
From the moment Liel found out she was pregnant, two-and-a-half-year-old, Panda became the perfect bump buddy, regularly sleeping on her stomach and appearing to ‘hug’ her expectant belly.
“Once I got pregnant she started following me around the house, tucking her head on my belly, purring,” Liel told LoveMeow.
“When the belly got bigger, she started putting her paws around the belly so it looked like she [was] hugging it.”
