Mum-of-two Lindsey Kay Self has shared a heartfelt message for baby-weight body shamers [Photo: Facebook/Lindsey Kay Self]
Getting asked when your baby is due, when you’re not actually pregnant is one of those horrifically cringe questions every woman fears being asked (and every man dreads getting wrong). But one-mum-of-two who found herself in that exact position has come up with the perfectly polite ‘that’s what I wish I’d said message’, that’s fast winning praise from the Internet.
When Lindsey Kay Self, from Ohio was out shopping last week, she was asked by a stranger when she was expecting. Even though she had given birth to her son nine weeks before, instead of being tempted to hit back with a torrent of abuse, she decided to respond with humour.
“If you’re asking when I’m expecting my nine-week-old to sleep for longer than 45 minutes, I’m hoping soon”,’ she said. But her attempt at lightening the moment merely managed to make the man look crushingly embarrassed as he quickly apologised and walked away.
