Zack Snyder's decision to cast Ezra Miller as the Flash in Justice League was met with severe criticism by fans, who have accepted Grant Gustin as the speedster. Gustin plays Barry Allen in DC's TV universe.
Snyder has opened up about his decision of not casting Gustin in the 2017 movie. He told the New York Daily News, "I just don't think it was a good fit. I'm very strict with this universe, and I just don't see a version where ... that (tone is) not our world."
DC has made it very clear that its TV and movie universes are not connected and fans will not be treated to any crossover between them. Snyder admitted that Gustin is very good and added, "Even if Grant Gustin is my favorite guy in the world and he's very good, we made a commitment to the multi-verse (idea). So it's just not a thing that's possible."
