It was revealed that short film "Maria", starring Glaiza de Castro, is set to join the Cannes Short Film Corner in May.
As reported on PEP News, the news was first revealed by its director, ER Alviz, who posted on Facebook, "We are very happy to receive the news that "Maria" is flying to Festival de Cannes, Court Métrage this coming May 2016!"
"Thank you to all the people who supported to make this film possible. To Team Maria, again, thank you for all the passion and heart you poured out in making this film," he added.

She also expressed her gratitude towards her co-star, Chyna Ortaleza, saying, "Thank you, Chyna Ortaleza (you know why). Fly away, Maria!"
The Cannes Court Métrage, or Cannes Short Film Corner, is a section of the Festival de Cannes that "develops initiatives, encouraging emerging talents as well as the particular format of short films."
"Maria" tells the story of a 20-something nun who struggles to handle her unexpected pregnancy as she returns to her convent.
