It is a Double Celebration for us - Kabir Khan on Bajrangi Bhaijaan Winning National Award

Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan won hearts and kept the cash registers ringing in 2015. The film was not only appreciated for its content but also for the heart-winning performances given by Salman Khan and Harshaali Malhotra. 

Today, another feather has been added in the cap of Bajrangi Bhaijaan as it won the National Award for the Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. On this joyous occasion, we got in touch with Kabir Khan to take his reaction on this lovely achievement. 

Ask him how he felt on the film winning the award and Kabir admits, “To be honest, I have never really expected awards. We live in a time where lobbying is a very essential part of awards. So if it comes then great, I smile and accept it, if it doesn’t then I just carry on with my work. When you make a film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the kind of love it got from the audience, that was the biggest award. When you making a mainstream film, then you look forward to the love from audience. Any award that we are getting is a bonus." 

Probe him if there is any celebration planned for the big win and he reveals, "We have just heard about it and I don’t think rest of the team even knows about it. We will of course celebrate and it is a good occasion to do it. I am also travelling to Panama Film Festival where Bajrangi Bhaijaan is going to be screened. So we will celebrate it there as well. It is a double celebration for us!"
