Mainland actor Leon Lee is set to make his mark globally through the upcoming TV series adaptation of the Hollywood action franchise, "Rush Hour".
As reported on CRI News, the 28-year-old actor, who has starred in films such as "The Conspirators" and "Streets of Fury", will be playing the main villain in the CBS TV series – a character called Jawlong, whom he described as an agent of chaos and a vicious criminal mastermind who is also an expert martial artist.
As for his take on the role, Leon said that he was inspired by various characters, including Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow and Heath Ledger's The Joker.
When asked if it was hard to play a role with an expertise in kung fu, Leon revealed that he himself has practiced martial arts since he was young.
"Rush Hour" the series stars Justin Hires as Detective Carter, originally played by Chris Tucker in the film, and Jon Foo as Jackie Chan's Detective Lee. It is set to debut this 31 March.
