Louis Tomlinson Signs Up For Soccer Aid 2016

We already know that Louis Tomlinson can pitch his melodies, but now the One Direction star will be showcasing his talents on the pitch – and by pitch we mean Manchester United’s Old Trafford grounds.

The 24-year-old is the latest star to join the line-up for the charity football match Soccer Aid to play against a ‘Rest Of The World’ team on Sunday 5th June, in aid of children’s charity Unicef.

Louis will be donning the satin shorts to represent the England side, which will be partly managed by pop star and all-round entertainer Robbie Williams, who is the ambassador for Unicef UK.

Speaking about hitting the pitch for the first time, Louis said: “I’m really excited to play in this year’s Soccer Aid event.

“Unicef as a charity, and its workers, continue to amaze me and helping even in this small way is a privilege.”

The Doncaster Rovers fan joins fellow music artists Olly Murs and Marvin Humes on the team, as well as reality star Mark Wright, comedians Paddy McGuinness, Jack Whitehall and John Bishop and presenters Ben Shephard and Jonathan Wilkes with Jamie Theakson in goal.
