Anne Curtis denies she is the new Darna

Anne Curtis recently had to calm "Darna" fans down, following speculations that she is replacing Angel Locsin as the female superhero in the long postponed superhero film. 

According to PEP News, the misunderstanding occurred when "Darna" director Erik Matti posted a photo with the actress on Instagram and wrote, "Need to get fit and catch up with you, [Anne Curtis]. Finally!" 

Curtis later seemed to fuel the "Darna" rumours even further by posting the same photo on her Instagram account. 

She wrote, "Something to look forward to this year. A film with THE [director Erik Matti]. Super excited for this! Time to work my butt off again!" 

Fans were quick to speculate that Matti is going through with the delayed "Darna" film with Anne Curtis playing the coveted role instead, sparking heated debate between Curtis' followers and fans of the franchise. 

However, Curtis recently responded to the issue by answering a fan's question, saying, "Chill. It's NOT Darna." 

She also denied that the new movie is the same project reported previously, co-starring Maja Salvador and Paulo Avelino, saying that that particular project won't push through.
