COMELEC sees no issue with KathNiel's ballot photos

Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon recently defended young stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, following the controversy surrounding their exposed ballots.

As reported on PEP News, Netizens previously slammed the onscreen partners for posing with their election ballots as requested by certain media agencies.

The incident occurred despite COMELEC spokesperson James Jimenez' reminder to the public to avoid taking photos of ballot, as doing so is considered an election offense.

Both stars are known supporters of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo during the election campaign period.

However, while Jimenez said that he needs to have a discussion with the two stars for the blunders, Guanzon said that she sees no violation in Padilla and Bernardo's action since their ballots were not shaded yet.

She also stressed that it was not an issue since the photo was not taken by the stars themselves.
