Deepika Padukone Auditioned For a Role in the Tom Cruise starrer 'The Mummy'

We know that Deepika Padukone is busy with her Hollywood project XXX: The Return of Xander Cage. She has been shooting for the movie in Canada since the past couple of months.  However, it seems that Ms Padukone is not willing to stop there. A little birdie tells us that there is a very exciting project in the offing. 

 In March, we saw Deepika Padukone head to LA. Pictures of her dinner date with Tennis star Novak Djokovic were splashed all across the net.  However, we now know the real reason behind the visit. Apparently, Deepika was there to audition for a role in the Tom Cruise starrer The Mummy.  

 Though there have been no official confirmations, it seems that Deepika and team are waiting to hear from the team of The Mummy. Now, if this is not exciting news, then what is?
